Hello everyone!! I am brand new to MFP as of today. I am very excited about this. I was wondering if any of you play games on the nintendio wii as a form or excerise or cardio? If so do yo have any suggestions on what games work? I look forward to hearing advice from you all!!!

Hi @CryssyJ23 !!!!! Welcome to MFP and thanks for joining the group!!!! You will MFP.. I find it very "addictive" lol at the end of the day it helps a lot to see what you are eating during the day..
Video games.. Im not into video games, i do have a wii, but my kids are the ones the use it. I have the zumba exercise one but after going to actual classes at the gym i really dont find it very challenging, i wasnt sweating or getting all that energy that you get at the gum with an actual instructor so i stop doing it because it got kind of boring.. Have you tried any??0 -

I have tried just about all of the Just Dance games on the Wii and it is a workout that makes me sweat. There are even workout challenge modes on the games that give you a goal measured in "Sweat Points" to reach at the end of each day and week. I absolutely love it because it always makes me want to beat my score from the time before. I also used Wii fit which is pretty awesome also because the better you get at execises, you get to unlock more of them!!0

I do Just Dance sometimes. I make my kids do it during the summer, if it is too hot to play outside! They get to earn computer time through Just Dance. But my personal favorite is Wii Zumba. LOVE. I previously did Wii Fit (running around a little island?) but got bored, however, it built up my stamina to the point where I could do longer runs outdoors.
Personally, I get a better workout if a Zumba teacher is making me do stuff. I never give myself as hard a workout as the teachers give me, so that is a drawback for me using the Wii. I have a great tendency toward laziness...0 -
my kids are playing the Wii Fit as we speak, been at it all day. Planned on sledding but way too cold! I used to do it, but haven't in a while. I always liked the Obstacle Course because I ended up doing so many squats. I never got into the actual workouts because there was so much down time between moves. I need to check out the Zumba! Something fun I used to do when I had the energy to get up at 5:30 am was put on a movie and use a step, do squats, lunges, free weights throughout the whole thing. It's not as good as a fully focused workout but hey, you get to watch a movie that's not animated!0
