Hi. This is kind of embarrassing, but just wondering.............

Have any of you, especially the "older" ladies, experienced a feeling, possibly a strain, in the groin area when lifting? I just started to experiences this as I've gotten up to 130 pounds on Squats.

I am 53, and have had three children, so I'm sure things are not the same "down there" as if I were younger and/or hadn't had children.

I'm 40; experienced some hip/groin pain when getting started but it was never acute -- mostly soreness and it did not prevent me from working out / adding weight.

I attributed it to strengthening ligaments/tendons and smaller muscles -- it's mostly gone now.

I have to have tactical wees before my work sets of Deadlifts and first and third squat Deadlift. It is a weight rather than age thing I think! A panty liner is good reassurance..

I had noticed that deadlifts could cause leaking. Nice.
  • I know this weird groin feeling and I think it is a form issue rather than age (though I'm 48). I get it when I have not tightened up completely before starting the squat. But also, it is a sign you are at a challenging weight - if it continues, I might deload slightly to prevent injury...

Well, I do have a problem with not tightening up completely. I have a way of going ahead without properly preparing before each lift.
