What's your least favourite SL exercise/workout?

Hi guys,

While i was doing my bent rows today it suddenly dawned on me how much I really hate doing them. They are so damned hard yet I don't know why?? I never feel like I feel like anything is working/burning up yet it's a struggle. So I would have to say that bent rows are my least fave exercise and then after that the squat. But I have a love/hate relationship with squats. I love and hate them at the same time lol. Unnsurprisingly, Workout A is my least favourite overall and I find it takes me much longer to complete than Workout B.

As for favourites, I think I quite like the OHP as I'm now starting to make good progress since I sorted my technique and bought some fractionalise. I always look forward to Workout B :)

So how about everyone else?

OHP is the bane of my existence when I'm working SL... Ughh, how I hate it. But I'm stubborn and want it badly so when I actually succeed it is temporarily my favorite thing. I think I have 4 more weeks before the shoulder is cleared to do unrestricted exercises including OHP... We'll see.

I'd have to say that the row is my least favorite, but my relationship with them has gotten much better since switching to a gym that has bumper plates and I can have the bar at proper height starting at 65 lbs. I hated stacking plates or pulling from the rack. Now that it is at the right height I don't seem to have as much problem with it mentally.

OHP is usually a struggle, but I haven't worked back up to my sticking point yet so they are okay still.

Squats. Hate 'em because they're one of my weakest lifts.

Must admit they are a little easier since I started using the power rack. They are a good few inches off the floor which makes a big difference because I'm at 38kg so still using the smaller plates. I'm not quite up o my sticking point yet on the OHP but I'm going up in 0.5kg increments now so I should be okay. I'm 1.5 kg away from my sticking point and the most I could ever manage was 3 reps. Looking forward to pushing through it :)

I loathe the rows. I did SL for about 2 months and switched to 5/3/1 last month - NO ROWS! Yay!!

I do them occasionally for accessory lifts but not 50183298347 of them at once.

I hated rows but only because I hated stacking plates. Like jstout, I use bumper plates now and I like them a lot better. I don't like OHP, but Workout B was still my favorite.

I'm hating deadlifts. My hands get slippery, and i can't hold on to do more than 2 reps at a time. Have to find some chalk.

Rows and squats. I'm getting used to OHP and I love the deadlift and bench. I agree that I don't feel the burn on rows. Not sure why. Squats drive me insane sometimes. I do high bar because it feels more natural to me, but sometimes I feel like my form is off.

I don't do the rows any more since I tweaked my backside.. I'm learning power cleans next week which is what starting strength has rather than rows.

OHPs are a pig too though!

Squats and OHPs! I know squats are killer for me, so I have more patience (sometimes) for them. OHPs make me feel so weak since I'm not able to put much up. I get to set 4 and struggle like a mofo.

    Rows...

Not sure if I don't like them due to issues or I have issues cause I don't like them.

I lift decently 115lbs but I just don't like them...but I want a back that make people go "WOW" or "WHOA"

Love Love Love OHP (weakest lift) and Love Love Love squats, bench and Deads..

    Rows. They just feel awkward.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing them right, but they are just not a natural feeling movement for me.

benching, and rows...i think benching just because i'm embarassed by how little i can lift this way lol that and i constantly have to fight with boys that are texting at the benches instead of lifting!

I'll be one of the odd gals out and say Bench Press. It's been my toughest lift to increase for the longest time. OHP is a struggle, but I still kind of enjoy it. Probably because I get to power clean that bar up ^^ But bench? Eh. I don't know. I don't like push-ups either?

I like the rows. Power building and whatnot. I get so sore after workout A though xD I have to lay down on a lacrosse ball to get my back to not feel like it's being pulled back by something.

Workout B is my favorite :)
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't feeling the rows. I never am sure of my form and don't feel the burn. Sometimes I wish squats weren't every workout, but I love them.

Also never really sure about my DL form. I feel better about my form now that the weights are starting to feel heavy. With lighter weights the first couple weeks I just wasn't getting it.

I always get sore after workout A in my pecs but today between my shoulder blades are achey so i guess those rows are taking effect. Workout B always kills my hamstrings but i love it :)

OHP is my least favorite...it just feels awkward. Although maybe I'm still angry at it because I'm pretty sure this is how I managed to hurt my wrist in the first place. I have done the other lifts for so long that they just feel natural.
