Actually I only allowed my weight to keep me from one bucket list item, about 5 years ago during one of my weight loss "attempt's" we had a trip planned to Whistler and I wanted to try zip lining - I am deathly afraid of heights :noway: but I spent so much of my life afraid of so many things I wanted to do it. But there was a weight limit and I thought I was too heavy. So I worked on losing weight before our trip and ended up 25 pounds less than the weight limit (250 pounds). It was a fantastic day, but it did take me two lines to actually open my eyes. I highly recommend it.

If you look at my ticker you will see my other bucket list item. I wanted to learn to kayak for years, I was afraid, so very afraid of the typical kayak that I would get in but never be able to get out easily. Last summer we discovered the joy of sit on top kayaks. We loved them so much we bought two. I didn't allow my weight to keep my from kayaking, but I will admit it was seeing the picture of me on the kayak that brought me to MFP and everyone here. Win Win.

Bottom line extreme physical problems aside sometimes you don't need to wait for the weight to enjoy your bucket list.

A lifetime ago when I was at a healthy weight I used to go snowboarding and skydiving. I miss extreme sports and they're some of the reasons I want to get healthy again. I miss the adrenaline and fearlessness. However, during my thinner years I was always a tomboy. I would never wear a dress unless I was going to a wedding. It's a decade later now, and it's my goal to wear and look gorgeous in a summer dress!

I love that goal - I have the ugliest legs in the world so for me to wear a dress seems impossible. Hoping you achieve your goal and we get to see pictures.

Not sure in what lifetime this could be possible but if was... I would love to see the Earth from outer space.
In the mean time I think it would be pretty awesome to learn to fly an airplane or skydive.

    Thank you jbart1055!

SephiraRose, that's an awesome goal! I actually wanted to be a pilot when I was younger. But things didn't work out at the time. Obtaining a pilot's license is still on my bucket list though :)

I want to run a marathon.

    But first:
I want to run, not walk, a 5K - the entire 5K. THEN:
    I want to run a 10K. THEN:
I want to run the entire 8 miles around Salem Lake. THEN:
I want to run a half marathon.

AND IF I can do all that, THEN i will tackle the marathon.
Hopefully before I reach my 60th birthday!

Have I mentioned that I hate to run? LOL!
But I've become addicted to the feeling of accomplishment that I get from achieving something I never dreamed possible.

When I lose 50lbs. I want to go skydiving, then when I reach my final goal I want to go zip lining. I have always wanted to do rock climbing too. There are many other things that I haven't tried and then once I became overweight I told myself it was too late. So now my goal is to try all the physical things I never got around to doing or told myself I couldn't like
    White water rafting
    Kayaking
    Paddleboarding
    Parasailing

I am determined to get my life back and make it even better than it was before.

Wow, everyone has such exciting bucket lists! I guess I am not really the adventurous type when it comes to sports and the outdoors!

Aside from my weight loss and physical goals, I would love to be more accomplished at photography. I wanted to be a photojournalist once upon a time. I would love to just be good enough, and physically able, to photograph kids in their natural environment, not in a studio. When I take pictures of my grandkids, it is usually when they are just playing and being themselves, or enjoying an outing, when I get the best shots and they will always be totally unique to them. I get weary of all the pictures of babies in the same outfits and props every time a new fad comes along! I would also like to REALLY see and photograph New England, the covered bridges, the waterfalls, the mountains, the beaches, the architecture, the history. I didn't appreciate when I was younger when I lived here.

Ok, this is seriously down the line but I really would like to hike the John Muir Trail.

In the mean time, I would like to have someone call 'family picture time' without making off for the bathroom. I really really hate to see myself in all my hulking ( at 4'11 no less) glory..

I would like to ride on a amusement park attraction without fear of being turned away due to weight constraints..

I would like to walk the shoreline of a Maine beach without gasping for breath

I would like to walk around Walmart without using the hated mobility scooter thingy..

Cynner - stick with us and be true to yourself and sooner rather than later you will be ticking everything off that bucket list.

Sue - your photographs are incredible! Is your profile picture of a grandchild? because it is absolutely magical and brings a smile to my face whenever I see it!

Cynner - I know that soon you will have checked those NSV's off your bucket list...can't wait to see you add some more! (I have to google the John Muir trail, though...) :flowerforyou:

OK - I googled it...LOOKS INCREDIBLE! I would definitely love to do that, too!

Cynner that is the cool thing about being here. We will be cheering when you or any of us post a picture or story of accomplishing that bucket list item.

I just blogged about my main bucket list item right now -- I want to weigh less than my husband - so far both my husband's are 6'2" (only thing in common -- aside from marrying me  ). And since 1979 I have weighed more than my husband - ok except the 7 years I wasn't married.

So is that a goal or a bucket list item???

    Joane - it definitely is!

SO let me add a couple things to mine...

    1. I want to wear my wedding ring again. It is a size 5...and was tight when I got married. I can now get it past my knuckle, but not much further.
    2. I also want to weigh less than my husband. I never have...not since we met.
