I am having trouble getting in enough calories. I am maybe getting 1800 a day. What are your best calorie rich but healthy meals or snacks?

Just adding avocado, cheese, peanut butter to things is a good way to add calories! Almonds, whole milk, a protein shake. A bowl of ice cream! (hey, its calcium! lol)

Nuts, avocadoes, peanut butter, pasta ... Oh, and chocolate.

Carrots/cucumber with hummus is good, and hummus has quite a few calories.

Pizza and sweets (such as half a bag of Oreos) were easy ways for me to kill my calories...Not exactly healthy though and how I ended up on MFP

Edited to add completely agree with the person that said add cheese to everything and at the end of the day eat some ice cream - great calcium!

I never thought about putting avocado in a smoothie!

I have to be careful with nuts. I'm allergic to a few varieties and since they are often processed in the same factories I shy away from them. Not a chocolate fan most of the time. I do like avocados , peanut butter, and pasta though.

    I love hummus!

luckily I don't have much of a sweet tooth. My hubby eats enough for us both! LOL. I do like cheese and ice cream is a good treat.

    Thanks for all the ideas.

Avocado is pretty mild when it's up against acidic and sweet fruit like orange and pineapple. It makes your smoothie extra creamy and delicious :drinker:

Ohh man. I have no appetite; reading through the suggestions made my stomach turn.

Eggs are the exception, I think I could eat them all day. I actually went to my parents house yesterday after my initial dr appointment (they live within 5 miles from her office) just to make some scrambled eggs.
