Intermediate - advanced 5K group -- any interest?

I'm planning on refocusing on the 5K - 10K distance next fall and thinking about setting up a group to discuss this stuff. Any interest?

The group would focus on experienced runners looking to improve their times, not c25k. Maybe call it intermediate / advanced 5Kers? Or maybe "Beyond c25k"? Or "Run 5Ks Faster"

I wanna shave 2 minutes off my 5K time! :)

Edited to add: I have a 5K May 3rd (same course as my last one 2 weeks ago...) AND I'm going to get that f***ing 0.3 seconds for a sub 23:00 lol

Very interested. I'm signed up for a 5K on 25 May and am focusing on sub-20. Definitely interested in some support/motivation and "strategery" talk :)

I'm very interested. I've fallen in love with 5Ks and am focused right now on improving my times. I would like to get into 10Ks next. I have ran a few halfs and plan on running 2 more in the fall, but the 5k is where my heart is right now. :)

*edit to add...i would categorize myself as intermediate, not experienced. I've been running about 2 years so not a beginner, but I am just getting focused on consistency and building a good running base.

How fast would you have to be to join?

Last year, I was thinking I would go for sub-20 in July, but with my weight gain, I know that's not going to happen. Instead, I'm looking to PR in September.

I would be interested, not sure if I qualify as intermediate. Can run a full 5k (and more), but super slow. Looking to build on what I have accomplished and get faster for the 11 races that I have left this year in the 5-10k range (2 complete already).

I want to join in but I'm still working on a sub 30 min 5k so probably to slow for this group.

Great, I've started the group now -- join here. Anyone who has completed a 5K is welcome to join. We're just looking for folks who are beyond the c25k stage.

I'd like to warn you that you're going to be telling a whole lot of new runners that they aren't ready for speed work.

ETA: you might want to start a thread - "If you are currently running under 10 miles a week" and put some basic guidelines in there.
