What weight should I start at?

Hey, I have been doing some lifting with a personal trainer and have good form on the lifts within the 5x5 program. So I am not an absolute begginer but near enough. My PB for 1 rep are:
Squat :58kg
Deadlift: 64kg
Bench Press: 32,5kg
and OHP: Actually I think im quite weak on this I struggle with 20kg for strict press after a few reps
My question is what weight should I begin on with the above in mind? obviously I couldn't do 58kg 5x5 but I am also worried I couldn't do half that for 5x5.
I am planning on starting tomorrow. Thanks

I'd consider deloading maybe 10 or 20% and starting there? Just to get yourself acclimated to the workout and to begin the progressive load at a scaled back place (like an arrow has to be pulled back before it can fly... or something, lol)
I'm afraid I don't really know the best answer to this, but hopefully someone else will!
Best of luck beginning!0 -

Ok thanks.
20% still seems quite high! It might be trial end error perhaps0 -
I'm by no means an expert, just started this a month and a half ago ish but I can say I started with the weights Mehdi recommends and thats worked really well, so perhaps you should do the same, its got to be better to deload too much than not enough I figure. And if it feels too light at first for some of them don't worry, the weights get really heavy really quickly! (Well heavy for me anyway )
Actually I've just read your post again and see that you struggle with 20kg so maybe try that tomorrow anyway and if you feel its necessary you could go to 17.5kg next time.
Good luck tomorrow! Are you in the UK? I am and am guessing from your use of kgs instead of lbs that you probably are too...0 -
I'd go with 70% of your 1RM or so. It's what I've seen suggested before and I tried it and thought that was maybe a little low, but good enough as a place to start. You'll catch up to yourself quickly enough. Don't be impatient like me! lol0

Yeah UK based. Its odd actually because for cooking I work in kg/g and for weights but everything else I work in llbs
Thanks for the reply. I might start with the bar for bench and push and somewhere between 50-70 for deadlift and squats0 -
