anyone bring their own condiments to a restaurant?

I am going to the texas roadhouse tonight and having the chicken with bbq sauce but I am going to bring my own salad dressing because its fat free and my olivio spray butter for the potato so I don't get the added calories from their butter. I am sure they won't say anything but if they do I will tell them I have a special diet so can't have their fatty stuff.

Funny... I have considered doing this but haven't yet. I will say I like to go to restaurants that post NV on line so I know what my options will be.

I like this idea. Wouldn't you love to go to a salad bar with a small scale

I haven't eaten at a restaurant in a very long time because I am so self-conscious about my weight, but it is on my bucket list!

I can see myself considering doing that. The restaurants are a business, and so yes, they do depend on patrons eating from their menu, but I think in the grand scheme of things they generally are understanding about special diets. If you are paying for your salad, the cost of the condiments are included in the price, so they aren't losing money if you add your own instead of theirs.

I've never thought to do that, but it is a great idea!

Typically I only eat out at places where I can look at the menu online and figure the calories out before I get there. I went to Mimi's restaurant for lunch once without doing that, but fortunately they posted calories for everything right there on the menu. What an eye-opening experience that was! Do you know how many of their dishes had more than 1000 calories? Only like MOST OF THEM! WOW!

I brought my own dressing and no one said a work, I ordered my salad with no dressing. I brought my olivio spray butter but ended up not getting a potato so didn't need it. I will be doing that more regularly cause it saves a ton of calories and I like the flavor better.

I make my own salad dressing with fat free Greek yogurt, Ranch dressing mix (not much because its high in sodium), and a little hot sauce and I take it whenever go to a restaurant and know I'm going to be ordering a salad for dinner. I've never had anyone question me about it. Saves a ton of calories.

I never thought about doing that, but I think it's a great idea, especially for salad dressing and such. I am definitely going to try this out.
