The Kinomap site allows you to post videos of your rides/runs (or indeed whatever?!) and apply the GPS data, so you can see where you ride/run, the terrain and how quickly etc.

TheBigYin (TBY) pointed me in the direction of this site... I was just wondering if anyone else uses it, that's all?

Here's my specific 'page' http://www.kinomap.com/user/cloggsy

Feel free to take a look if you get a [few] minutes :blushing:

Please feel free to 'add your'

Not yet, but I plan to start. I think the location information gives an extra level of interactivity with the video, which can be otherwise be a bit dry (Especially road cycling). I might have missed that you already can, but it would be nice if you could search for videos by location too. See if someone else has already been down that country lane that you have your doubts about when looking on Google maps.

I must admit, I often use Streetview to "explore" stuff like that - of course it doesn't help for any of the "sustrans" or bridleway stuff for the 'crosser.

I heard a rumour that Google had a bunch of people out with backpack cameras, photo-mapping footpaths and bridleways. I dont know if that was just in the US or globally, and it will certainly take longer than the roads to complete, but that will be a nice additional feature when it arrives.

Being new to virtual training, I find the combination of Kinomap with the Wahoo KICKR trainer to be the most enjoyable training I've ever done in the winter. I still prefer riding outdoors in the sunshine, but having Kinomap keeps riding interesting to me, when it could become very unenjoyable.

    I do now!

I'd already stripped a lot of the quality out the video in the GoPro suite, before the Kino uploader took what little was left. Sorry it looks like it was done with a 2002 smart phone. Also, check out how much the camera steams up on the climb. Thats steaming up the inside of a supposedly waterproof housing. How does that work?

Warm Moist air indoors condensing on the inside of the lens when it gets cold would be my guess - the lens being at the front get's wind-chill. Keep a silica-gel sachet inside the closed waterproof housing, open, drop the camera in and seal straight back up. Also, perhaps consider using something like the anti-fogging sprays they sell for motorcycle visors ??

Open up your camera and waterproof housing and place them in an airtight tub (Tupperwear or whatever...) with some of those silica packets you get in shoes, electronic goods etc. and seal 'em up overnight... Hey presto - no more fogging

... so my camera is back in the 'dehumidifier'

P.S. The vid' is basically me searching for a WiFi connection to get a route (Ypres to Roubaix), going the wrong way (lots), before finally getting on the right track, then realising that the SatNav wanted to take me off down the A19 Motorway, so I admitted defeat and rode back to the Campsite we were staying on at the time...

Are you sure it was the Camera and not the Duvel ?

Here's the Yrpes - Roubaix 'Epic Fail' ride...

    http://www.kinomap.com/watch/zckx37

It's a whole lot of me going the wrong way & turning around...

    Menin Gate at 3:18

Ypres Main Market Square at 4:02

Worth a very quick look if you're bored

some excellent architecture while bimbling around the town centre... Pity you couldn't get a decent route sorted, I'd have loved to see some more of the countryside out there. Still - there's always another visit, isn't there ;-)

Indeed - We're doing the Moselle Valley next Easter, so might do another Ypres stop-over on the way there/way back & do it properly on the roadie

What's worse; soft squishy CX tyres over cobbles or bullet-hard 23's over cobbles?

I'd say the latter

I'd take the crosser with a pair of road 28c's at around 95psi personally - mainly as the cross wheels are just a little more forgiving and the rims are stronger.
