what are you doing to lose weight

I know for me losing this weight is going to be hard. I would like to lose 30 but would be happy with 20. Unfortunately I am going at it with healthy eating alone (except this morning, already had a donut with my coffee). I am a preschool teacher during the day and also have a nights and weekend job at Staples. Finding time to workout is tough, although I do do stuff with my preschool kiddos. There is no affordable gym around me and I have an ankle waiting for major surgery and in PT for tendinitis in my knee, so physical activity is limited anyway. Although if I do throw a video in or go for a walk I will push the pain to the full extent possible, that's what I ice is for right?

What are you doing on a daily or weekly basis to help reach your goal? :flowerforyou:

    Hello.

For me, I have totally changed the way I look at food. I'm in my mid forties and, with that, I have encountered all kinds of new challenges in the way my body processes food and hangs on/loses weight. I really had to look at my eating habits and change the pieces that just didn't work anymore. I am eating primarily lean proteins, healthy veggies and fruits and limited healthy carbs. I'm completely avoiding the junk. No more chips, pretzels, etc.. I find they are triggers for me and I don't practice moderation well with them. Trying to focus on food as fuel for my body and not just filler. Does that make sense? It seems to be working. It was many months of looking at my habits and educating myself of what my body is going through before I actually changed my mindset and altered what I was doing. Was far from an overnight thing.

So, my journey is a FOR LIFE change. I really don't care how long it takes me to get where I want to be "weight wise". I'm just focusing on making permanent changes that can be sustained for life.

Exercise is also a HUGE part of my routine...but it always has been. I'm a runner, a spinner and I weight train once or twice a week. I also throw Yoga in there when I can.

You have to find what works for YOU. Sometimes it takes awhile to find that balance. Good luck!

I'm an accounting assistant during the day and I absolutely can't stand sitting all day, so I try and get up and walk around or stretch periodically throughout the day. I also exercise as much as possible lately I've only been able to go to the gym twice a week but when I go I try and stay for about an hour and a half to get a good workout in. When I'm home I'm trying to not sit a ton but get up and walk and do things around the house. Lately I've been sewing again so I'm constantly moving around the room for that. I also watch my calories and food intake; I try to eat less calories on days I know I won't be working out or moving around too much at home.

You have to find what works for your body. There are many exercises you can do while your sitting down or laying on the floor, and you can even use hand weights with those exercises. Good luck in your journey and remember there is always great support from people on here.
