I'm planning on having my sleeve this summer and have read about excess skin in some people after surgery. I wanted to see if many people have experienced this
Thanks so much!!

Oh yeah. I have lost 146 lbs and the loose skin is definitely there. I still have another 80 lbs or so to go, so chances are there will be even more. I don't love it, but honestly, it's better than 146 lbs of extra weight. I can deal with this surgically later on if I choose to do so. I feel amazing now, and I would say that the risk of excess skin should not be something that should make anyone shy away from surgery. Also, everyone is different, and the amount of excess skin you have will depend on many things, such as how much weight you have to lose, your age, your nutrition, your level of exercise etc.0

Oh yes, lots of loose skin. Upper arms, wrinkly belly, wrinkly boobs and very thin hair. But I don't care!!! Being a size 10-12 and able to move for hours without fatigue, sweat, pain or wheezing. Able to dash up and down stairs. I love getting my picture taken now! I love seeing my normal sized shadow on the ground. I think I look great in clothes0

I already know this is a negative of the surgery, but I can cover most of it with clothing and if not, oh well. I'm exercising in the hope of building some muscle and maybe lessen the amount of loose skin, but I know I will have some. Everyone is different and the more you age, the less elasticity you have in your skin. I'm in my late 50's. No matter, the outcome is ultimately worth any price I have to pay.

I have only lost 74 pounds so far and I defintely have loose skin and I could care less. The loose skin and stretch marks are just reminders of the hell I put my body through before and that I don't ever want to do that again. I don't plan on having skin removal surgery, but I'll stay open to the idea if any problems arise. I'd much rather have loose skin, than rolls of fat. I spend 99% of my time in clothes and don't see the point in worrying about the 1% that I spend naked.0
