I have a question about post op eating

When I am allowed to have yogurt post op, is it a problem if the yogurt has tiny seeds in it?
I ONLY like one kind of yogurt, and it's raspberry. It has a few tiny little raspberry seeds in it.
I'm wondering if I can eat that? Or will the seeds do damage to my sleeve?
I suppose I could strain is, but is that necessary?

I will ask my surgeon/dietician when I see them, I just wanted to put it out there to you veterans :)

Thanks in advance!

You may have yougurt as soon as you go from full liquids to pureed foods - 2 to 4 days (from my Dr's plan, yours may be different). I would avoid the small seeds until after the one week check up, the biggest post-op worry is the staple line not healing well. Better safe than sorry.

Thank you for you reply! I can't remember when I can have yogurt, that's not really my concern LOL I will check my book to see. I was just worried about the seeds.

Good to know about the staple line. I'll be sure to ask my surgeon :)

I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row now LOL
I don't even SEE him until June 5!

I totally agree with this - you don't want any complications. It seems like you are on the post op diet forever, but when you come out the other side you forget what it was even like. It's worth being strict about it.

Agree with all the above. I was on full liquids for two weeks before I could have pureed foods, including yogurt, so check with your doc before adding it.

I'm almost two months out and still stay away from seeds and nuts, including those in berries. For flavoring your yogurt, try eating plain or greek yogurt and put a spoonful of seedless blueberry or raspberry preserves on it. That's what I do. Good luck!
