Just checking in after my race yesterday! I GOT A PR!!!!!! Didn't finish sub 2hr but I took 5 minutes off my PR and 22 seconds off my pace. I finished in 2:10:49! This is all while it POURED the WHOLE race. The course was flooding and it was difficult but it wasn't windy or cold so it was actually bearable and quite fun. I am barely sore this morning and feel like a rockstar I even ran negative splits which I have never been able to do before. I paced myself until mile 9 (not as fast as I wanted) then I finally got tired of the people I was running with shenanigans and sprinted just enough to get away and realized hey this pace isn't bad at all (too bad I didn't realize this before) so I kept it up until the finish. I did get a nasty blister that filled my sock with blood on the back of my heel but no biggie. Thank you all for the encouragement. Now on to MARATHON training in September. Ahh! This has me totally freaked out but I just have to finish it no pressure on time.
