Supply down now that the weight is coming off?

Hi Ladies!

Looking for some input from moms!

I am a working mom. Previously I had a healthy oversupply, now that I have been losing some weight I am under about 8-10 oz. a day, but thanks to the massive freezer stash, he only gets breast milk. I nurse exclusively on weekends, and he seems fine.

My LO is 7 months old. I gained 50lbs, lost the first 40 easily in the first 3 months by doing nothing, and just finished losing the last 10lbs, using My FItness Pal, but I would like to trim up a little bit more.

How many extra calories are you eating? I am currently consuming 1900-2000 a day with 500 of it being the additional calories for BF, and I am eating all of my workout calories. I drink tons of water, easily 90-100 oz in a day. The teas have helped a little, I haven't tried oatmeal in a while...

I just don't know what to do. I have about 4 weeks left of work until summer break, so I don't know if I just let it be, and use my freezer stash until then, or maybe I should add calories (could that be the reason?), but that would slow down my weight loss, and I am finally starting to feel good again!

Thoughts?
THANKS!

Are you exclusively pumping? Or only pumping when your at work? If you exclusively pumping, pumping Mom's can easily start to lose supply. Stress can also be a factor.

Gatorade and steel cut oats are things that can help boost supply.

Is your baby starting solids? I have read that when a baby starts solids that they may nurse (or take a bottle of breast milk) just a frequently as before but are actually consuming less milk overall at each feeding. If you weren't pumping at all you probably wouldn't even notice a drop in your supply but I know it can get frustrating when you don't see as much output during your pumping sessions. Thanks, and only pumping while at work.

Kristin, you bring up a good point...he is eating a lot more solids, so maybe you are right! I will take a look at that article. And yes, so frustrating!
