Good morning and happy Friday!
I'm pre-coffee and devoid of any coherent thought, so no conversation starters... does someone else have one?
This morning I am dragging myself out the door early so I can try a couple of new classes at the Y, Water Tai Chi and an Arthritis Aquasize class. Beloved husband is going to an all-day concert in Bangor tomorrow, so tonight we head north and spend two days at the luxurious Econolodge by the airport, LMAO. They DO have a pool, Woohoo!, and I'm bringing my pool weights to work out. Need to call to see if we have a fridge and microwave so I can bring my own stuff. If not, I'll be eating lots of apples and carrots!
Hope everyone has a fabulous day.

Morning Karen
I am sooooo jealous of the swimming and water stuff you get to do. I am from the UK and actually started WW over there 7 years ago and lost about 40odd pounds. My activity then was swimming, I have always loved it so I joined a gym just to use a nice pool and nice changing rooms lol I went at least twice a week sometimes 3 or 4 times depending on work (primary school teacher). Then I met my hubby and moved to Canada and we do not live near any public pools, and I do not speak French and we live in Quebec. I have not swum in 6 years and I miss it so much. How about we talk about activity and workout vids? I know someone asked about that in their feed, sorry I am just sipping my first tea at 7.30am but son woke me up somewhere around 5 so rambly and confused is my motto today. We could create a list by quoting each other so that we have one long list of activities we do?

Well I have a new favorite class--Water Tai Chi!!! Oh my God, soooooo wonderful!!! All about energy flow, being calm and centered, clearing the lymphatic system. I can't wait until next Friday! Arthritis Aquasize was a big "meh"--definitely gentle on the joints but not aerobic enough for me. Next week I'll switch off and do laps after tai chi.
Tishtash, do you live near any hotels? Sometimes hotels with pools will sell a pool pass for a reasonable fee. Try also one of the Scandinavian spas or ski resorts. Even if they don't have a lap-sized pool, for a little money you can get a set of water dumbbells and get an awesome workout.
Before Still's disease, I did a lot of walking, hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing. Oh, and boogie boarding, my absolute passion!!! Every year my girlfriends and I went to Ocracoke, off Cape Hatteras, to ride the big surf, or we took a crazy backpacking trip to Portugal or Morocco or some other cheap, exotic place to ride some waves. (I NEVER buy shoes, perfume, purses, or jewelry--I wear $10 sneakers and went surfing!) I had to give up boogie boarding about four years ago when my hip and knee joints got so bad. I couldn't get up after a wave knocked me over. BUT--last summer I was visiting a friend in Virginia Beach and decided to try boogie boarding again with my crutches (they're aluminum and light weight). I used the crutches to brace myself against the breaking waves to get out to deepwater, then slipped a lanyard around my wrist and looped it through the crutches. Rode my wave and used the crutches to get back up and back out. It was AWESOME! One of the happiest days of the my life since Still's!!! My only limitation is making sure I don't overdo so I have enough strength left to get back up the beach after boarding, and making sure I take the next day to pack my joints in ice and rest and recover. That I can do--small price to pay for so much joy.
When I am at a healthy weight, I will treat myself to a new wetsuit.0 -
I was out of the loop yesterday so didn't get a chance to check in. I was exhausted from not sleeping I guess. This past week has been crazy here and it has been really hard staying on track. I have been staying under calories, but not eating as well as I should have with a few processed things and skipped lunch the past few days so ended up eating processed bars and such instead
. I feel it also because I am literally just wore out. With a sick kid for two days and then long distance sick grown kids it has been tremendously stressful. I am trying to get back on track but today I have slept alot of the day because I have been so tired still, so now it feels impossible to get any energy at all. I wish I were one of those people who get energy when they exercise...I literally could take a nap right after exercising.
As to the topic of exercises, I like the Zumba on the Xbox Kinect because you can customize your own "class" and pick how many songs you want and which songs you want in it. You can also download more to add to it; which I liked.
Chris Powell also has a good exercise DVD for people on Amazon that I got awhile back. I really need to do it again. In it you can choose to start out with even a 10 minute session; which for alot of us is a big deal. I know it is hard on me when I exercise for even 30 minutes. Helloooooo? Where is everyone today?0

Well the past week has been a hard one. After getting sick last weekend the rest of the week was just pissy, as was my attitude. I was frustrated with eating and lack of choices, had been distracted by work and time restraints and hadn't been getting in my yoga. I had a much better day today and my mood has improved. Had a quick late breakfast, PB&J, and did my yoga. I'll have lunch and get my work done and then go for a nice walk.
I suspect I will simply have these swings from time to time, and be pissy and frustrated. Just the nature of things.0 -
Hellloooo! First chance I have had all day to check in. Very busy what we call "Renewal" Season. I work for the state. Basically, we have to spend all of our money or lose it, so I am here making sure we spend it before we lose it. I did take lunch with my husband today. We went to Arby's and I had a diet coke. That was it. His 2 Beef and Cheddars looked so good, but I didn't want to even start.. I will indulge later on after I have a couple decent months under my belt.0

Good evening all!
I walked home from work (3 miles) every day this week, even when it was over 80 degrees yesterday. I'm really proud of myself for that! Before two weeks ago, I had never walked all the way home. I have to figure out something to do both weekend days to keep up some kind of exercise.
I treated myself to a burger for lunch today after eating lunch I brought from home 9/10 days the past two weeks. Not terrible, without the fries and soda! Certainly not something to make a regular habit, but, man, I was SO HUNGRY all day yesterday, and now it's 7pm and I had lunch around 1 and I'm still sated (though I probably won't wait much longer).0
