Where to begin with "Clean Eating"?

I want to eat clean. I need to lose weight, my husband has high blood pressure, and I want to start showing my daughter now to eat healthy. But I don't know where to begin. With grocery shopping or anything. and my husband is a very picky eater. He hates chicken, pork, hates most vegetables, doesn't really like fruit. Any tips? and we are on a budget!

I try to eliminate processed foods, we still have them from time to time but they are not a staple anymore. Things like bread, pasta, or anything prepackaged, even taco mix. I cook with lots of herbs and spices, minimal salt. Basically if it's pretty close to its natural state it is safer to eat. Also, I use coconut oil to cook with and olive oil as a dressing. I just learned that cooking with olive oil actually transforms it from a good, healthy fat to the bad kind.

Since I adopted this more natural approach to cooking, I have recovered from a heart condition and my husband's blood pressure, too, has reduced. My nutritionist also said that healthy fats like olive oil and avocados help reduce blood pressure.

My husband is also very picky, he won't even eat leftovers. So I still struggle with what to cook for dinner, but having these limitations have helped me narrow down the options and I just look for recipes that meet these healthy dietary choices.

Also, fat-free dairy products like milk and yogurt are highly processed. When they remove the fat they add sugar to give it a better flavor. I eat 2% yogurt and use my daughters whole milk for cooking or drinking.

My budget is also tight, but it hasn't been too hard to adjust to some of these more pricey products. After all the hospital bills from my heart condition, the investment is well worth it.
