Watchalong?

Would anyone be interested in a group watchalong? Basically we would watch one or two episodes a week and have a discussion thread where we talk about our favorite parts, favorite quotes, post gifs, etc. You could watch the episode(s) whenever you had time and post throughout the week. We could start at the beginning of Nine (since it's kinda hard to find some of the Classic episodes) or we could start at any mutually agreed-upon episode. I'd be willing to moderate it if none of the group moderators wanted to take it on. Anyone interested??

Interested, yes. Can't guarantee I can manage it around my toddlers though...0

No problem, if you can do it one week, great; if you don't manage it that week, just jump back in whenever you can!0 -
Oh, totally in!0

I would love too. but can only watch it on BBC america, cant afford to buy the season and no netflix here.0
-
Oh, definitely. That sounds like a lot of fun.0

I'm game. I think we should start with once a week just to warm up. I can post some links to streaming sites for shows we can't get on Netflix.0

Just started my own rewatch, motivated by my lovely friends here. I could be in for this!0

I'm in!0

Awesome, looks like we've got several people interested! Anyone wanna suggest a place to start? At the beginning of Nine works for me, but maybe we've all rewatched those recently and would like to start farther along? I'm open to suggestions. We'll start next week!0
-
I think the two starting points would be either Nine or Eleven.0
-
I'd be in for eleven. That's what, Series 5?0
-
Haha I was just thinking about posting the same thing this morning before I got on here  Whovian minds think alike I guess! I'm totally down for it though, especially since i'm already doing 2 rewatches Problem? No I don't have a problem, I just can't stop watching DW! I watch it on BBCA everyday & then in order again on Netflix & i'm good with starting wherever everyone agrees on. I do think we should make sure that everybody can access the same episodes though so that noone gets left out of the party :drinker:0

I'm in as well!0

Okay, looks like a couple people would be up for starting with Eleven (season 5); any objections?
Also, does anyone know where we can find streaming links for the episodes other than Netflix? I'm not skilled in finding those kinds of things...
Also, eek I'm excited!!0 -
Its also included in Amazon Prime Instant, if anyone goes that route. They also have season 7.5, and I don't think netflix does yet.0
-
Ooh! Amazon Prime has 7.5 now? I haven't checked in a while, just started watching season one of Orphan Black instead.0
-
Netflix doesn't have any of season 7 yet, but now that you mention it, yes Amazon Prime has it streaming.0
-
I've never used amazon only netflix. How does it work? Do you need a membership or something?0
-
Yeah, for the streaming service you need a membership with Amazon Prime. I don't have a membership, but one of my coworkers gave me her login information so I can use her account when I need to. Maybe you know someone who has a Prime membership who'd let you use it?0

With Amazon Prime, you have to pay like $70 per year. It works out to be cheaper per month than Netflix, but since you pay it yearly, it can seem like a lot of money. I love the 2-day shipping since I order a lot of things from Amazon. Amazon Prime will also be streaming HBO shows starting later this month (I think they have to be at least 3 years old, so no new Game of Thrones), but they also have Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, which Netflix no longer has (which is why we switched). They no longer have all the Bones, though, which made me a little stabby.0

I'm in. I am always rewatching episodes!
I think that Amazon Prime has increased to $99/year (Netflix monthly prices are also going up). I remember getting an email about it but since it is awhile til I renew didn't pay attention. But still has 30 day free trial so if don't like it you can cancel. I have both.0 -
Both services have a 30 day free trial but you still have to use a card to sign up & then cancel the day before it renews. Amazon does get newer episodes of shows but they tend to glitch when streaming, not too bad I suppose but I can watch anything on Netflix without having to let it reload whereas with Amazon I have to pause it every few minutes to let it load again :grumble:0

Speaking of Netflix, I've been having issues with it lately... It won't load any videos! It'll let me log in and see my list of shows, but if I try to click on one to watch, it locks up and won't do anything. This has been happening for two days now. Very frustrating!0
-
I could be in for this but I need to figure out how I will get the shows. I might just end up buying the seasons on iTunes or something since I don't have the net.0
-
My husband bought me Season 7 for Valentine's Day this year since it's not on Netflix. He's a keeper.0

Sounds like fun ...... I'm game :drinker:0

Sounds like fun. I will try when I can, work is crazy.0

So are we good for starting with season 5 episode 1 (The Eleventh Hour) on Monday? Any objections, speak up now!!0

I will be out of town next week, but I can catch up.0
