Veganism can be a pretty broad world-view and it includes many things. When it comes to diet, veganism means avoiding all animal products, including meat (fish is also meat), dairy, eggs and honey. People who are vegans for ethical reasons would also avoid other things that are made from animals or made exploiting animals, like leather and wool, and products tested on animals. It is generally accepted (such as by the ADA) that veganism fits people of all ages, and that a vegan diet provides the body with everything you need, EXCEPT for vitamin B-12 for which one needs a supplement. Statistically keeping a vegan diet lowers your chances of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, and some types of cancer.

Here are some websites with tips and recipes and such. If you have any question feel free to ask! you can add / pm me too. :)

are you vegetarian or do you cut down on animal products? I was vegetarian for a few years before going vegan and I noticed a huge spike in my overall energy levels after cutting out eggs and dairy. before going vegan I was biking to work over 1.5 hours every day, and I continued after but generally felt happier and more energetic.
now my vegan diet fuels my 130 km bike rides, running, skiing and more!
before going vegan I absolutely loved food and cooking, I was a self-acclaimed cheese aficionado, and I would never have dreamt of giving up eggs and dairy. now I love cooking and eating even more and I feel more connected to the foods I eat. I eat a lot of whole foods and really enjoy feeling natural. cooking and baking vegan things isn't impossible but it can be a challenge and I think that makes it fun. for the record, when I first went vegan I was working at a factory, and was fairly low income, so I feel that almost anyone can really do it.
these first two sites will make you fall in love with vegan cooking and are very positive :)

If you want to give it a try, you might want to cut one type of animal product per week and "taper down". even if you research, try it to your best ability, and still feel veganism isn't for you, there's no shame in that, but you might want to try cutting out one type of animal product, or buy vegan products often. naturally I would recommend cutting out meat or dairy, or both, since those industries have a lot of bad impact both on the environment and the products impact your health very badly! out of all the animal products I think fish and seafood is the least harmful to the human body.
if you're wondering why I dislike milk so much (I was a huge fan of dairy less than 3 years ago...) you could check this site out. http://www.notmilk.com

edit: a good movie to watch about the vegan diet is "forks over knives"
