5 weeks out and struggling

Hi everyone. I'm struggling to get calories and proteins in. I became lactose/whey protein intolerant after week 2 and I am suffering with acid reflux, which is getting better after my surgeon put me on 80mg of pantoprazole every day. I am reaching 350-400 calories a day and 40-45g of protein. Water is OK. Any suggestions?

Have you tried soy protein or hemp protein? Can you do soft foods like eggs and tuna? Ricotta?0

Not sure what kind of protein is in it but I really liked the Isopure Zero flavored water at the beginning. It's water rather than the creamy stuff, has about 50 grams of protein per bottle and counts towards your water intake too. I bought it at GNC.0

I can eat solid foods: 2oz of tuna, chicken, veggie burgers, but that's not enough in terms of calories or protein. Isopure is whey protein as well, so that's very hard for me to drink it. I guess the issue is that I can eat very little. Do you think it will progress with time? I'll look into soy/hemp protein.0

Yes, you will be able to eat more in time, but it takes time. Maybe you can eat more often under the circumstance? Just a couple of ounces at a time but like 6 times a day or more? Or higher protein things like egg whites? What does your doctor suggest?0

I got to 475 calories today and 50g of protein today! I'll look into all of your great suggestions! Thanks for the support!0

Speaking of egg whites, jay Robb makes an egg white protein mix that I have seen at GNC. http://www.jayrobb.com/protein/egg-white-protein-vanilla.asp0

Thi sstuff was my lifeblood for about 4 months. I will grab some for the summer cooler as well. 20oz of fluid with 40g protein. Nice way to hydrate and get good proteins.0 -
Quinoa cooked in chicken broth, kidney beans whole or mashed, kale in soup or smoothies. Egg Beaters. all are very high in protein.
also baby limas, lentils and roasted nori.0 -
I still purchase high protein products, (soups, shakes and pudding mixes) from my weight management team once in a while so I always have some on hand, just in case my lung problems act up and I shouldn't have dairy products. They have come in handy for me. Go online and search lactose and whey intolerant products.
Hope everything gets better for you soon.0 -
Salmon 40g in 200 g serving, edamame 17 g per serving. You could use canned and make a salmon salad with mayo and edamame0
