Eccleston Love!

I loved Eccleston! He wasn't my first (Tom Baker was), but he was exactly what they needed to bring the series back successfully! And his little quirks were so endearing. I actually had a hard time with Tennant at first (then fell in love with the 10th Doctor... same with Smith/11)
I had to laugh when I saw this. It is me to a tee!!!
Yep, I was exactly that way with Tennant and Smith! Will probably take me a while to adjust to Capaldi too, but at least I have time to prepare myself...
I am ready for Capaldi. Don't get me wrong, I loved Matt Smith. But I am hoping with Capaldi they can get back to some more classic Whoishness.
My reaction to your comment:
This. I adored Matt Smith to bits, and honestly, he was the primary reason I even finished S6 and S7, but I am SO ready for a new arc with a new Doctor and new companions and, as you said, "more classic Whoishness". Lately DW hasn't really felt like DW (seriously, it was such a struggle for me to finish S7 and I was NOT fond of "The Time of the Doctor" or "The Day of the Doctor", or the apparent direction the series is going). I'm putting all my hopes on Capaldi, to be honest. Hopefully Mofatt doesn't screw it up because lately I've got the impression that he's, well...
And I'm all like:

Yep. About sums it up! Eccleston was my first0 -
I don't see myself ever loving any doctor as much as I loved 9 (though I've yet to start classic who, so we'll see). I really liked 11 and I'm excited for 12, but I was so upset over the loss of 9 that I spent the next several seasons loathing 10. I understand why he didn't come back for more seasons, but it doesn't make me any less sad.0

Not my first Doctor but definitely got me excited about Dr. Who again!!!!0

It's funny I think how great the current doctor is then I go back and remember how much I loved 9.tom baker was my first doctor and will always be my favorite0

Really, I think one of the biggest injustices was that nine only got one season. I mean, I know the story, and it's his own darn fault and he sounds kind of like a jerk, but... he was an AMAZING Doctor.0

I think what 9 brought to the table that was slightly lacking in 10 and 11 was sass. He was sassy beyond compare.
SASS0 -
WHY ISN'T THE WHOLE WORLD LIKE THIS??0 -

Is it sad that the only reason I watched Thor 2 was becasue I knew Eccleston was going to be in it? He was my favorite, I still miss his sass. Just imagine him and Donna together!0

Dalek: But you have no weapons! No defenses! No plan!
The Doctor: Yeah! And doesn't that scare you to death?0 -

Totally read this in Nine's voice in my head.
