Good morning, lovelies!

Business first: if you participated in the May Challenge, make sure you read my message in that thread about tallying your stats and letting me know if you're in the winner's drawing. Also, Julie started a new thread with a June challenge. Check it out.

I love the 1st of June! Not just because it's my birthday, but because it feels like a second New Years Day. Only with sunlight, blooming trees and flowers, singing birds, and a whole summer to which we can look forward!

So here's your conversation starter: Happy Half New Year! What Half New Year resolutions would you like to make? What will you put on your vision board?

Good morning Karen and happy birthday :) x

Weight related I want to lose another 20lbs by Christmas. Well if I am going to be wishful I want to lose 30lbs, then Id be under 200 for the first time since well I dont know when tbh. But I am halfway in this journey and I do not lose big amounts each week anymore, if I am on plan it ranges from 1/2 lb to 11/2 lbs a week. Plus one week a month is anyone's guess because of the evil TOM. So 20 is more realistic and do-able.

Exercise related I want to be doing my aerobics workout at least 3 times a week on top of the walking and yoga. And with Yoga I want to be able to do some of the moves on the mat not using a chair.

Personally I want to get on top of some paperwork I keep putting off, and I want to be using the free french learning online thing I found.

Those are my half new year resolutions :)

My half new year resolutions are over the top, but I like to aim high:
--Start and finish (By June 30) filing project
    --Exercise one hour per day
--Train for Peaks to Portland swim race
    --Start weight training
--Finish My half-finished novel and send it to an agent
    --Lose 3-4 pounds each week
    --Track all my food
--Spend more fun time with hubs

    Happy Birthday Karen.

My half new years resolutions are fairly simple: lose 30 pounds by December and exercise minimum 5 days a week.

Oh an NSV to boast about but some background first. So I have a fatty mass in my stomach, (happened when I gave birth to Dean, we had no money and I was not a resident yet so had to pay for everything but couldn't, so they skipped testing etc. It has slowly grown over 5 years, it causes me a lot of pain on and off at random times. Did go to a specialist and he said he couldn't remove it because of my size.) It is getting a little smaller with the weight loss but family doc has said at some point I will probably have to have surgery to have it removed. It means clothes shopping is a nightmare, it is about softball size I suppose. Even as my butt, under the bump, hips etc were shrinking that stayed so I still had to get larger clothes. It means it takes a lot longer for me to drop a clothes size too. And it means it is hard to feel good about my new size as a look down and there is that huge lump.

Yesterday we popped out to get my son some new trunks and I thought Id grab some leggings to work out in as the ones I have bag around the butt and crotch and make yoga a bit uncomfortable. Finally I am down another size! Started at 4x, was at 3x now at a 2x in elasticated waist items. (non elasticated waist will still be 3x cause of the bump). But still I am buying some 2x things now and that is nice. Tops I am down from 4x to 3x, again mostly due to the bump. I thought I'd never get to 2x anything so it is nice to start edging in.

First of all Congrats to you Tish for making some noticeable progress and dropping a size!!! That is fantastic!!!

I am going to be out some today; which here lately I have been alot so haven't been able to get online as much. When it is warm weather though we try to get out more doing things, so that is a good thing. But today is errands and having to pick up my son from his dads weekend...so that long drive ugh.

For my goals, I want to really get back recommitted to eating better. I was doing really well and then for the past two weeks it has been hard getting back into the groove I was in. I have been up and down on the scale, in fact was up 4 pounds this week :frown: I haven't been drinking nearly enough water, and having way too many artificial sweeteners in diet drinks. I normally only have stevia in my morning cup of coffee and have no problems with that, but here lately, I have been drinking the diet sodas and diets teas alot more and no water to speak of. I have GOT to get better with that because I think that is one reason I have been stalled. I have been eating under my calories for the most part but something is definitely causing a huge stall, and gain for that matter so I am going to try to figure out what it is and fix it.

My second goal is to be under 300 by the end of June. I WILL get there!!!

    Happy Birthday Karen!

    My half-year resolutions are:
    1. Lose 10% of my body weight by September 30th. On October 1st, I'll reassess my goals based on how this goes.

    2. Continue exercising 6 days a week. I have done great this week. My body is sore today from all the working out I have done, so I decided that Sundays are my rest days.

    3. Drink more water!

    Happy Birthday Karen!

Half-year.. hmm.. I need to pick something very simple so all I am going to pick is tracking every single day and keeping up on the water. I will also try to get some activity in every week. My aim is to start small and re-evaluate or I will get overwhelmed and end up doing nothing. I am already fed up of tracking so don't think it isn't a BIG challenge! LOL

Good morning my friends. First of all, happy birthday Karen!!! I hope it's a great day for you. Tish, congratulations on the change in clothes sizing!! It feels so good doesn't it? I completely understand your aggravation with the fatty mass and the trouble it gives you with clothes. I am the same way with the excess skin on my apron and thighs. If I buy something that fits my sagging apron and thighs than it's too big at the waist. Very aggravating.

As for the resolutions, I prefer to think of them as goals. Yes, I know they are basically the same things but for some crazy reason if I call them resolutions I set myself up to fail. So my goals for the next six months are:
    1. Continue to log everything I eat (good, bad and ugly) no matter if I end up in the red or black. I can't see where the problems are if I'm not honest with myself.
    2. Keep increasing my step goals (and stay ahead of Pat, hehe :p) and get back to going to the Y on a regular basis.
    3. Continue working with my therapist
    4. Would love to lose 20 pounds but I'll be happy with whatever I get
    5. Continue working on not berating myself and actually accepting when I screw up. That's life, it's not perfect.

Hmmmm. I hate resolutions, never make them. If I want to change something It's never a good idea for me to wait, I just have to do it or it will never get done. But as this is not new years I will make some.

    1. In 3 weeks I will move out of the 300lbs club.

    2. After loosing 10% of my body weight, 31lbs, I will deal with my fear an anxiety of hair dressers and get a haircut (the last one was three days before I graduated college). That goal will be in 3-3.5 weeks to loose the next 7lbs and hit my 10% mark.

    3. After my 5k walk on fathers day I will start the Couch-to-5k program. I will give myself 11 weeks to complete the program and then run a 5k.

    4. By my next birthday, November, I will I will be in the 270lb range.

    Are those enough goals.

    Happy Birthday Karen!

I, too, am a June baby. I turn 34 on Wednesday (the 4th).

    My half year goals are:

    1. Log EVERY day! Like said before...the good, the bad, and the ugly. My success at weightloss is completely tied to whether or not I'm logging what I eat.

    2. Keep drinking my water.

    3. Scales-wise I would like to lose 60-70 lbs. it sounds like a lot, but have a lot to lose and I am at the very beginning of the process. Plus, it would bring me back to my starting weight of 2003. The very first time I successfully lost a large amount of weight.

Some great goals/resolutions here -- I'm totally stealing a couple!

    1) Finish Couch-to-5k by August 15.
    2) Sign up for a 5k this fall and complete it in under 45 minutes.
    3) Log everything, every day.
    4) Strength train 3 days/week.
    5) Drink. More. Water! (Goal: 100oz/day)

Tried to post before but my daughter came up and pushed the back button.

    Happy birthday, Karen!

My diet and exercise goals for the rest of this year (from easiest to hardest):

    1. Don't quit. I usually quit at about the 20lb mark. I'm NOT going to this time.
    2. Log everything. I'm getting good at this. Just need to keep it up.
    3. Drink more water. I'm aiming for 2.5 liters per day.
    4. Eat more fruit, veggies and lean proteins.
    5. Exercise.
    6. Finish P90X. This has been a goal of mine for a year and a half now. About time I got on it.
    7. Finish C25K. I'll probably do P90X first because I'm really self conscious about exercising outside my house.

    Weight-loss goals:

    1. Be under 248 by my birthday (Dec. 8). Once I'm under 248, I'll no longer be morbidly obese. This is a 38.4 lb loss and require losing an average of about 1.5 lbs per week.
    2. Be under 279 by the end of this month. That'll be a BMI of 45. This will take about 2lbs per week.
    3. Be 212 by my birthday. This is my ideal, perfect universe goal. I don't expect to make it but its my "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among stars!" goal.

If I manage even a few of these I'll be supremely pleased with myself.

    Happy birthday, Karen!

I like the idea of half-year resolutions. Let's see....

    Health Goals:
    1.) Lose 50-60 pounds.
    2.) Track every day.
3.) Drink at least 10 glasses of water every day.
4.) Exercise at least 3 times a week.

    Other Goals:
1.) Read at least 26 books.
2.) Finish editing two of my novels.
3.) Write at least one new draft of a novel (other than the two I'm editing).
    4.) Find a job.

I should probably have more goals than that, but that's all I can think of for now.

Half-New Year's Resolutions...I love it. Never thought of doing that before. I guess mine would be:

    --De-clutter/organize my apartment
    --Procrastinate less with graduate school
--Pay off one of my credit cards
    --Finish my novel
    --Get under 230

Kind of lofty goals, but I think if I'm disciplined I can do it. Good luck to everyone!
