Wedding dress picked out?

I have my dream dress picked out, and the largest size it comes in is a 14, I hopefully will be ordering a 12 by my date (September 2015 ) currently a size 16w. I know to most people size isn't important, but to me it is =P Any one else have a wedding dress size goal?

HI there! Thanks for the add.

Yes, my wedding dress size goal is to be an 8 or 10. I recently purchased my wedding dress last weekend in the size that I am, 14. It takes time for the dress to be made, though my wedding is't until June 2015 - the dress will come in this July and I'll have it alterations done. The dress can be brought down 2 sizes without compromising the designs.

    You can definitely do it!

Erm well I'm being given a dress by my fiancée cousin who's a designer. It won't be tailor made as such though as she's very busy and important so it will be up to me to slim down for it. There is a plus size range but u prefer the couture stuff. Her latest stuff is pink, totally not my bag, but the previous two seasons have had some interesting ideas.
  • I for sure want to be at least a size 12! the pic i have up of me in dresses are a size 18 so hopefully i'll be there! gotta get to a 14 by July 18 for second consult!

I plan on dress shopping in November or December so hopefully I will be at least 45 pounds smaller by then. I want to be in a size 10 or 12 for my wedding dress!

I have my wedding dress picked out and bought! It just barely fit when I tried it on though. It folds part of my back in half it's so tight. On top of that, I've gained another 17lbs since I tried it on. So now I have to lose 2 dress sizes before it'll fit. It should be a glove by the time I hit my goal weight though. :)
  • I ordered my dress may 2! i'd say i currently a size 16, i ordered a 12! it comes October some time! TOO excited! I MUST FIT!!!

Hi, Im new to this group. I got engaged Christmas 2013, wedding will be summer/fall 2015 (new job, don't know when I can get time off yet). I have thought about looking at wedding dresses, but as I am losing weight, Im not sure if I should pick something yet. I don't know much of anything about weddings or dresses, so maybe one of you will know?
How many sizes can a wedding dress be altered?

Altering your dress depends on the dress itself. If it has a lot of beading or design not very much. Maybe an inch is what I have heard. Otherwise I think i heard around 2-4 inches without a lot of design and without changing the style too much. I have gone dress shopping twice so far and found a couple that I really like but haven't been able to zip up yet. I don't plan on buying mine until August-September because I hope to be down quite a few pounds by then so I will only have to order a size smaller (fingers crossed).

I don't have a wedding dress size goal. I don't want to put that pressure on myself. I have not tried on dresses yet though, so I do want to lose 10lbs pounds (more so be in an exercise pattern) prior to dress shopping. My date is in October so I should probably try on dresses soon.

I would love a corset (string back) dress or an easier altered dress just for convenience on that end, but who knows what I'll go with.

How goes it for those trying to lose sizes or have tried on dresses recently?
