Indoor rock climbing

So I'm moving to St. Cloud soon and they have an indoor rock climbing facility on campus there. Was wondering if anyone had any tips for a beginner? What to prepare for, what equipment and supplies I'll need. If anyone does this a lot and how you enjoy it. Really any sort of feedback would be helpful. Also, if you know of other facilities in the state worth checking out.

Not at all sure about St. Cloud, but the Twin Cities has Vertical Endeavors: http://verticalendeavors.com/
And REI has indoor and outdoor rock climbing classes (some specifically for women, some co-ed): http://www.rei.com/outdoorschool/climbing-classes.html

I went for the first time a few months ago - I encourage you to call ahead and ask what you need to bring (at Vertical Endurance you can rent everything - a good idea for beginners like me!). They provide a short training which is sufficient. If you can rent the gear, bring comfy clothes and the ability to laugh at yourself as you push your endurance to move up...and PUSH with your legs (as opposed to pulling with your arms). Legs are stronger than arms!
