Question on pumping

I am ebf my 4 week old. I also am pumping about 8+ ounces a day. I usually put 20 oz for what my little guy eats then add the extra in. I have it set up in my foods with the negative macros it affects so I can just do it by oz. I want to continue to lose a pound a week and not compromise my supply. How would the rest of you treat the calories. I'm set to 1200 then add the milk.

25oz is more along the lines of what a typical baby eats, as I understand. So, that's where the typical 500 calories for breastfeeding comes from (20 cal per oz x 25oz = 500). You are pumping an additional 8 ounces above that, so if I were you, I'd set my calories to 1700 (to include the EBF 500) and then add in the extra 20cal/oz for those 8oz (or 160 calories, in this instance), for a total of 1860.

    I wouldn't go below 1800, but that's just me.

    I second that ^^^

Also, if you're only eating 1200 calories a day for yourself and you're not four foot tall, then make sure you eat back every single exercise calorie too. For information: I'm 5ft 5in, breastfeeding, eating 1860 cals a day, plus an additional 500 for breastmilk, plus most of my exercise cals and losing half a pound a week happily.
