I found a cool tutorial. If you can do them, can you recommend this link?

It's one of my goals. I can do a pull up where I can my my shoulders up the the bar level. But my collar bone area hits the bar extensions

We had a day of muscle ups for our WOD today and surprisingly 100% of the men in my box (well, that particular 6:30am class anyway) can do them and a couple of the girls. I can't even do a pull-up yet, so I did modified progression (low rings, kneeling and using my legs as necessary for assistance). Apparently the key is all in the grip.0

Can't do a single one! There are quite a few folks at the box that can do bar and ring muscle-ups, though. It's pretty impressive.0

I can't wait for the day I can do one - still working on strict pull ups - since June - grrrrr0

I've been wanting to give them a try, but haven't really had a chance yet.0

I think I will make an attempt tomorrow.0

I'm still on very band assisted pull-ups and ring dips so it'll be a long time before I can even dream of a muscle up. We'll call that my 2015 goal.0

Well my technique was not pretty and I used some kipping but my muscle up attempt was successful!0 -

That would be a NO. I cannot do muscle ups.
I can just about do the easiest scaled version on low rings with my feet on the floor. Even then I can only get one rep.0 -
Ummmm... I'm still working on unassisted pull ups!0

I'm still working on strict pull-ups and strict, unassisted ring dips.
I can finally do kipping pull-ups but that still doesn't get me anywhere near a muscle up!

Interesting. I was at the gym and this guy did 3-4 really good ones. I was pretty amazed. Young but it wasn't like he was some scrawny dude. Probably a little lighter than me (170lbs) but in his 30s maybe. I regret not talking to him. I can pull up and hit the bar with my chest but don't know how to make the move over the bar. I can pull up with the bar away from my chest too.0

You probably could, but with your shoulder it probably isn't worth the stress you'd put on it.
I can't even come close, but from what some of my fellow CFers tell me it's more a matter of form than strength (i.e. lots of folks at our gym could do them, they just haven't worked on technique yet.)
From what our coaches say the key is getting a strong hip drive and firing your head forward at the top. It probably isn't something I'll be doing for another year or so though.0 -

I think it's just a matter of technique for you. You are strong enough for sure. If you see the guy again I'd ask him if he could give you some tips.0 -

nods....
Did you try one right when you started? I did and tried one this week and I can get considerably farther up, (my arms to about 90 degrees but not quite past that yet.0 -
I can do chest to bar, strict pull ups, and ring dips so I now want the muscle up...working on the false grip pull up (ouch!)0

You did it thats all that matters! Working on your grace can come next!0
