Has any one tried the P28 Products? I am mostly curious about the wraps, bagels and bread.

I have a friend that tried the bread. She didn't like it however. I tried to get some but every time I go to the place that sells it they are sold out of everything but the bagels and they are huge so I don't bother trying those. Being in Canada makes it tough to get some of this stuff.

I am also in Canada. Do either of you know if P28 products are available in any grocery stores or do you have to order them online? Thanks.

I just did an internet search on P28 and Canadian retailers and it looks like the " Popeye Supplements" carries the products. Always best to call ahead if there is one in your area as you never know if what they have in stock. I'm gonna drop by there anyway to check out Protein Powders and Quest Bars.

Qwest bars= yum!! For the most part, anyway. I do not like the peanut butter or banana ones-- really like cookie cough and oreo!

I'm not at the grain stage yet, but does anybody know if the bread and bagels, etc freeze well?

I can order them online from Low Carb Canada in Scarborough Ontario. I was getting ready to place an order and saw some of the P28 breads, bagels and wraps and they have lots of protein. I was wondering what they tasted like.

They do have a lot of protein. I live in a very rural area we don't even have a grocery store. But when I go to town I check out Cavedog supplements for the bread and every time they have been sold out of the bread. They always have the bagels but as I said they are huge so I just think they would be wasted for the most part.

@authorwriter My friend that has tried it has some froze and was going to give it to me but I didn't have time to swing by her place that day. So I assume it freezes well as she told me she bought 4 loaves of the bread. She has since found some bread she buys from Dominion (Canada) I will try to find out the name of them they have higher protein count than regular bread does.

@Thaeda I bought 6 of the quest protein bars when I was in Cavedog supplements and I didn't like any of the ones I bought at all. I wish I did the protein is awesome :)

@relentless212 I couldn't order it directly from P28 website but there may be other places to order it online.

@asia1967 I will message my friend right now and ask her what the bread taste like. I will get back to you asap she usually responds to me fairly quickly.

These are the bagels my friend gets from Dominion grocery store http://www.presidentschoice.ca/en_CA/products/productlisting/pc_blue_menu_thins_multigrain_bagelsprod1180049.html

6 grams of protein which is no where near what the p28 contains. I have messaged her and waiting for a response. Will let you know as soon as I hear from her.

Check this site out for a review on the p28 bread.

Joy that does help, I appreciate it, and think I will order a loaf and give it a try. Thanks again.

Edit to add: which quest bars did you buy. I found that I like the natural ones way more, than the other ones. I have tried most of them. Maybe I could offer of advise. Let me know.

I tried strawberry cheesecake, cinnamon roll, apple pie, peanut butter deluxe, there was another one can't remember the name and I bought a brownie one but it was for my hubby to try as I am not a huge fan of chocolate. The apple pie one I took 2 bites of it and threw the rest of it away. I did manage to get down the others but only because I didn't want to completely waste the money I had spent on them.

It looks like you tried all the ones I think are gross. My favorites are the chocolate chip cookie dough, the chocolate chunk (not the brownie) and the white chocolate raspberry. I really like the ones with chunks in them.

Joy : that is to bad that you did like them, I am really picky which one I like, I agree with ATXHeather I also like the cookies and cream. I can appreciate what your are saying about wasting money, they are not cheap at least where I live they aren't.

Would you mind letting me know what you think of them, I haven't filled my order yet, the more opinions I get the more helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

I know this is a old topic. But my friend that had VSG the same day as me brought me a loaf of the p28 bread and the bagels. I haven't tried the bagels but I did toast a slice of the bread. It tasted like normal bread to me a bit dense and I couldn't eat the whole slice. But it wasn't bad for those who wanted to know :)

Joyhibbz: I really do appreciate you getting back to me. Glad to hear about the normal taste of the bread, will you keep me posted on the bagels. I did just recently try the flatbread and could only eat half and I enjoyed it. It did get a little chewy after microwaving it. I made a mini sub with all the fixings and threw it in the nuker. Thanks again.

Hey Joy, I have a question for you about the President's Choice Blue Menu Mini Bagels you mentioned. That is a Superstore brand. There are Superstores in Winnipeg here where I live in Canada. Are those bagels a P28 product or are they just a much healthier version of a mini-bagel?
I used to shop there a lot and will be going there on occasion but right now my grocery priority is to get a Costco membership.
I only have a slice of whole grain bread a few times a week being pre-op but it's good to know this stuff now. Especially since many things at Costco are sold in bulk. Thanks. Feel free to message me.

Relentless: I am not sure we are talking about the same thing. P28 Products are the brand name and they are full of protein, They are at the speciality store Low Carb Canada I have mentioned before. The also have their own website, not sure where else you might be able to purchase them. The PC blue menu are usually just healthier version of the regular brand.

    Thanks Asia.
Yes, I am familiar with seeing the P28 products on the Low Carb Grocery & Low Carb Canada sites, but Joy had made a reference regarding the PC Blue Menu ones. Perhaps she was suggesting it as a lower carb option.
Thanks for the clarification my friend.

I recently picked up a loaf of low-carb, high protein, high-fiber bread from a Chompie's chain here in Phoenix.

    blech.

Seriously, blech. It made me ill. regular bread doesn't make me ill, but obviously, that's not on the program. My husband likes the bread but said it had a kind of weird consistency. for whatever reason, it didn't sit well with me. which makes me sad because I've been eyeing up these P28 products, but am now thinking this kind of thing won't be for me. My sleeve is sooooo temperamental. I think I'll name her Diva.

authorwriter: I like that Diva. I find that strange that it is so temper mental, usually the sleeve is the more lenient of the surgeries. How far out are you for surgery? The only problem I have will my sleeve is if it is really fresh bread then it seems to ball up. Maybe try toasted bread, might sit differently.

LOVE them! I started with a sampler, then ordered a case of bread which freezes really well. Sold one loaf to a friend and ate the other three over the last month and 1/2. Ordered another 4 plus some of the flats. I do chicken quesadillas or pizzas on the flats, (but a 1/4 of one will do me, LOL). Bread is best toasted or made into grilled cheese. I liked their peanut butter, but decided it was just as easy (and cheaper) to mix my own protein powder into regular peanut or almond butter and tastes about the same.

Bikrchk: Thanks for all the info. I wish we had sampler packs that we could get from our store. But now that I have heard everyone's opinion I feel confident order the bread.
Did you try the bagels yet!
I thought the peanut was expensive so I wasn't even considering it.

I had my surgery on May 14. I can eat regular bread, but I don't because it's not on the program. I've had bread a coupla times since surgery. It was very good. That's why I'm disappointed the Chompie's bread didn't taste good. I don't normally think about bread. It's once in a long while.

That's the thing with Diva - sometimes I crave something, or think it will taste good. I had ice cream yesterday and about halfway through, I realized it was just too rich for me. That it didn't taste as good as I thought it would be. I'm finding a couple of bites of something I consider a treat is plenty. After that, it feels like too much.

Sometimes I think I'll buy a really good bread and keep it in the freezer, pull out a slice every couple of weeks. Imagine that. A loaf of bread lasting a year!

Authorwriter: I hear you, I buy bread and it lasts forever. I keep mine in the fridge so that is doesn't spoil so quick, but by the time I finish my loaf I am toasting it before it goes completely stale. I would eat a whole loaf of bread every other day, pre op.:blushing:
    Got to love the sleeve.
