That is what I have been consuming. My priority is not weight loss, it has become irradicate sodium from my diet.....as much as possible. I am now done to approximately 1200mg per day. What is the recommended amount.?

It is about average for many. However, the USDA, in its 2010 guidelines, recommends that healthy adults keep the intake to under 2,400 mg a day. Those with high blood pressure/hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease or over the age of 51 should keep it below 1500 mg.

I have kidney involvement in lupus so I am restricted to 1500 mg of sodium a day! I am also very salt sensitive.. That seems very high to me
