Okay gang,
The last of my company has left, and I finally have some me time (at 12:30 a.m.)! Fun, fun fun visits from everyone, especially my beloved sister, but it feels good to have an empty house again and to know that no one is going to fill the kitchen with high calorie foods.

I'm trying to get jazzed up for the last part of Heather's Birthday challenge! Instead of sticking with it, I let stress, medical issues, and company derail me, and I can't help thinking that this is the story of all of my failed weight loss attempts. I start out all gung-ho and then don't stick to it. I have great excuses!

So maybe I set myself up for failure with all or nothing thinking. I'm not succeeding unless I'm starving myself, which I can't sustain, so I stuff myself and gain everything back. Instead, a slow, steady, sustainable loss Is much more sensible. So my plan for tomorrow is to re-think my food plan and go for a slower loss. Add back in some of those exercise calories. Allow myself something" sinful" to avoid a binge later.

It's late, I'm exhausted, I'm rambling, but at least I'm not eating!

So happy Sunday all y'all. What's your plan today?

Even if you don't do something 100%, at least you are doing something which is better than nothing at all. I always remember the feeling I had when a Doctor told me that I would not lose weight by walking on a treadmill for 20 minutes daily. She said it did not get my heart rate up high enough to promote weight loss. It felt like she stuck a giant pin in my self esteem bubble. So I say a
acknowledge all attempts regardless of what it is.

Well I have done my 45 minute power walk this morning, the weather was lovely as it rained overnight. I ran into a 'herd' of javalina's (wild pigs) ...thought they were some artist statues/metal artwork, until they MOVED! They can be dangerous, especially with little piglets...and of course there were 2 of them in the group of 10 adults. The matriarch/patriarch was heading on the busy road and the rest following, and I was clapping my hands to keep them away from me!! So I jumped in the road and flagged down oncoming traffic to stop....and the herd ran across the road with their little piglets!! I had a tree next to me, was contemplating climbing it if they came after me! Last time I climbed a tree was over 50 yrs ago!!! So, I have had enough excitment this morning!!! Everyone have a great day!!!

Quick check in. Daughter sick...again. So upset about this. I have to take her in this is just too much. Fever, cough again. Really restless and just really sick of my husband. Terrible to say but i just want him away from the house for a while so i can stop staring daggers at the back of his head. Diet wise...i have no idea. I am logging but havent sat down to a meal in 2 days. Just randomly grabbing stuff out of the fridge or pantry.

Had a rather nice day. Slept in and then decided to go for a bike ride. The weather was hotter then hell but the heat of biking in the afternoon doesn't aggravate my asthma as much as riding in the early evening. It was about 84 when i left and 94 when I got home. But it was a great ride. One stretch 4 mile stretch that I did about two weeks ago couldn't be accomplished without stoping 4 times with getting off the bike to rest and have water. I did that stretch today and didn't stop till the very end. Originally I had planned a 10.5 mile ride, but by the time I got to my 6 mile turn around point I decided to keep going and ended up taking a 14 mile course. My thighs and calfs are screaming bloody murder every time I stand up to walk but I feel great. Only took 1:10:00hr.

I'm already fantasizing about the courses I could take, and have set myself a big goal. Near where I live we have the Iron Horse Regional Trail. It travels through two counties, 12 cities, and fallows the old Southern pacific rail road. It's 55 miles long. While I have no plans at the moment for traveling the whole trail I have mapped out a 27mile route that would take me to the only Bay Area Rapid Transit train statin it connects to. The hope is to be able to ride that 27 miles to the BART station and take the train back home.
