Morning all. Had my coffee, as a treat we had the Pillsbury 33% less fat crescent rolls with a little butter and nutella. Have not had them in ages didn't realize they had a less fat version. They are good, son's first time eating this kind of thing, he is in breakfast heaven on his third one! lol.

Yesterday I think mikesgirl suggested the topic of what have you done recently that was just for you, not related to food or weight. I am not one that goes for massages or manicures or anything like that, cant afford it. But the other day DH had taken our son to his first time fishing and I sat and did my own nails for no reason other than it looked good. I also bought badminton rackets even though we are tight on money so I have something fun to do as a form of exercise but I guess that is a bit close to the weight thing ;)

Today I am taking our son to the park, having a picnic, letting him play in a tiny splash pad zone. It will be a good day.

I seriously need to do my nails again. Hope to get them done tonight. Today the thing I'm doing for myself is getting my mammogram. I'm overdue. So...time to go in and get it done. Putting my health first. :)

Awesome job ladies!! It is so important to remember that sometimes we need to put ourselves first. As the saying goes "you can't put the oxygen mask on someone else unless you put your's on first." This has been a hard lesson for me and one that I constantly work on but I'm slowly getting better with it.

As for me, I called this morning and made my appointment for my massage that my mom gave me for my birthday. I'm going on Friday afternoon and can not wait. On Saturday I'm going shopping with a friend of mine. She's looking for a new swimsuit, something I don't need. But I do plan on looking and buying myself at least one thing. They're having great sales on summer items and I could really use a new pair of capris. Oh and I almost forgot, I bought myself a bus pass even though we really couldn't afford it. Without my pass I'm basically stuck at home every day and I have trouble getting to therapy, my support group, the store, etc. I have to be able to get out of this apartment for my own sanity. Speaking of leaving this apartment, I better get moving if I'm going to catch the bus to get to my therapy session. I'll check back in on you all later today. Hope it's a great one.

I went a little nutso on myself in June. Since I got approved for a loan, its like almost everything I wanted that I dont let myself have I got. Well, not everyrhing but I got my hair done, I got some make up, nothing too crazy, I got new pillows for the couch, umm..trying to think...I really felt like I splurged but I am having a hard time comimg up with what on. A lot of times I buy stuff for my daughter or the house because that is what truly makes me happy and is considered a splurge. I do my own nails. I need to do them today!

  • Does taking a long nap count?

The baby is teething and my 2-year-old has never been a great sleeper. Last night was awful. I didn't get to bed until after 4 am and the baby was up again at 6. So when Hubby offered me a long nap I took it. And for the first time ever I didn't get up to see if he needed help every time one of the girls made a louder than usual noise. He let me sleep until noon, only waking me once when the baby needed fed.

It felt amazing. I'm still a bit tired but nothing like I would have been without the nap.

Also I've been drinking more water. I've felt dehydrated for a couple of weeks and finally buckled down last night to fix it. Now I just have to stay hydrated.

Absolutely the nap counts and good on your husband for giving you the chance.

Had a lovely day out today at the park, a picnic and watching my son play in the splash park while I read my kindle. Then tonight Dh and I went out and played badminton while it was just light enough.

My visiting sister painted my toenails an amazing glossy pink. They look so Cheerful!

Hey all--just passing through. Yeah, my exciting life, I now have an infected leech bite and cellulitis on my right leg! Seriously? Who gets an infected leech bite??? LOL! Maybe I should play the lottery.

This is more an itchy, burning pain in the butt than anything serious. Leg elevated, so good time to write Bigfoot erotica.

    Hugs to everyone.

I splurged last month and bought myself two $5 pair of jeans (clearance) when we really couldn't afford it, but all my jeans were literally falling off me, and that is what I wear to work. Oh, and yesterday, I reminded a friend my birthday was Sunday, and I joked that all I was praying for was not to have a "Ramen Noodle" birthday. Now she and her guy might be driving down to see us and take us to dinner (45 minute drive). So, that felt really selfish and indulgent. I told her we could grab sandwich stuff and head to the part, as long as I got to visit, as that was the real birthday present! If I do my nails, I do them myself, but I spend so much time cooking and washing dishes and such, I never go an entire day unchipped, regardless of who did them. But, since I heard how much bacteria is held close to the nail beds and under the nails when wearing nail polish, I've had almost a full 2.5 year boycott! LOL I've painted my toenails once or twice since then, but since I don't wear sandals or flip flops (I HATEHATEHATE flip flops except for heading to the pool, and even then)...it is usually just for me, and I get tired of moving my belly around and trying to get past it to reach them. LOL But, I might paint them for my birthday. LOL Other than that, haven't really had a chance for much indulgence of late...

Hugs, Carly in OK where the thunderstorms are about to start...supposedly. LOL

It isn't at all! First leech bite in 15 years of living on the lake. It fell right off. I figured no big deal. Then I started to itch and feel like I had the flu. A week later, I'm feverish, sleeping all the time, and then my leg swells up and turns bright red, so actually the leech bite caused cellulitis.

I'm a medical mess right now! I need a plastic bubble to live in, preferably one with an espresso machine inside!
