Happy Sunday, lovelies!
I have a mile long to do list to attack today, which should keep me busy and away from too much food. My goal today is to move as much as possible, not give in to the blahs or stick my nose in a book for hours.

What are you all doing today?

Well DH finally got Ds's bicycle's tires pumped so I am taking Dean outside to test out them out. Gonna let him practice in the big car park so he can build up some speed and I can trot along with him. Then lots of boring housework to do today. Was going to making cinnamon muffins with Dean but had a high cal day yesterday. (DH and I went out for a couple of beers and a light meal for lunch, ended up not eating till 4 so I was hungry and a little drunk and made bad choices. But on the plus side food was delayed because he was talking to someone we know about a possible job for him next year that pays better than anything he's had before. It is not a definite as there are others involved in the hiring apart from this guy, but with his support DH would be a favorite to get it unless someone with more experience suddenly comes along in the mean time. We are cautiously hopeful as it would mean a lot of positive things for us). Anyway I am not sure I should have a bunch of yummy muffins around when I need to try and balance out yesterdays food fest. Then we will do some numbers and letters work, then if the rain has held off we might go for a walk.

What I would rather do is make those muffins, eat them, drink lots of coffee, and read my kindle on the couch and let Dean watch tv all day. But that would make my recent loss go by by, and is not being a great mum lol.

Morning all! Oh the chores are a callin' but I am telling them to STFU, I got swimming to do! I jumped on the scale afraid of what Ibwas going to see after 4 days this week over cals, some way over and just laying around and I was down 1.5 for the week overall. I will take it! Count it as a fluke and know as this is mfp 100 day return, im recommitting like its day 1.

    Have a good day y'all!

Tish (Natasha?), I keep meaning to say how wonderful it is to read about all your activities with your husband and son. Especially the badminton- -I can just see the three of you hopping around like crazed lunatics. Badminton is so fun!

Well I've managed to procrastinate so long on putting Thompson's on the front deck that a storm is rolling in and I won't be able to now. Going to do my recycling and go to the hardware store then do laundry. Hubs has worked all weekend and will take tomorrow off, so I am going to surprise him with a "slothfest day." That's a day of being a sloth--no chores allowed!

Heather, I like this idea of a recommitment. I've been on MFP since April 24, lost 31 pounds in six weeks, and now I think I've gained it all back. My scale won't talk to me and I don't want to weigh in at the doctor's and face the music, but I KNOW. I can tell by the way my back feels and the extra fat roll on my neck. I have good excuses for gaining back--six weeks on high doses of prednisone, two weeks of nonstop Still's flares, pneumonia, leech bite, three weeks of company. It all added up.

The only thing I've done consistently right is check in here!

So yes, recommitment starting now. I know how to do this--3 healthy meals and two snacks, exercise for an hour each day, get enough water and sleep, have an occasional treat so I don't feel deprived. I guess the "trick" is to actually DO those things consistently. And make them a pattern or habit before I go leaping off into my usual craziness of adding a thousand other plans, like working with a trainer on weights, or learning to cook vegetarian, or teaching a water aerobics class to my neighbors. Instead of doing the basics, I try to be a superhero, and then my cape falls off, and I'm lying naked on the sidewalk eating Cheetos again.

So my commitment is to create a habit of basics!
    That's it.
It's boring but necessary. LOL. Oh my God, I think I just grew up a little.

Edit: almost forgot the most important part... my reward for doing this all week is that I get to spend $20 on vintage jewelry from my favorite etsy shop next Sunday! Bling!

I will join you in recommitment. The most sobering moment of my week was realizing that I cant go to the pool because my new swimsuits don't fit. Yesterday I went to a dog show with my friend and today I have done chores.. working on coloring my hair so I am typing in plastic gloves! LOL.

My recommitment is to track.. just flippin track and stay within it. It isn't that difficult I just haven't been focused. I meant what I said before.. this isn't a journey for us that is like flipping a switch and we lose it forever.. this is a battle day by day month by month.. I haven't done so well lately.. but my body feels awful for eating junk and its time to do great again.

Yes, Julie--tracking! When I stop tracking my food and calories, everything falls apart.

Come on--you and I have been in this group since day one--let's make it work.

As for the swimsuit, message me your particulars (size, style) and address. I probably have one in my swimsuit bag that I can pop in the mail to you. Seriously--I have about 25 in all sizes--in fact, my mom just left three more with me. That's life on a lake, LOL.

Dee if you need a suit too, let me know.

Julie, I know what how you feel about bathing suits you have not fitting you. When I started going back to the pool this week, I was so happy when I found out that I didn't throw out my oldest bathing suit that is a few sizes larger than the one I was in a year ago.

Today, I've worked out to a DVD. I did this because I told you all I would on Friday for our weekend discussion. I'm so happy that I made it all the way through this DVD, as it's been a long while since I did it last. Now, I have energy for the whole rest of the day.

In a bit, I have some laundry to do. There was a load of my clothes on the clothes line, and it's rained on them for 3 days. But, I"m so glad we got some rain. We've really been needing some good rain.

I'm going to also look over a good grilling cookbook from the American Diabetes Association. It has some good things in their that are low carb, low fat, low calorie, etc. This includes marinades and toppings for your grilled foods. (There is more in it than that though)

  • Other than laundry, I'm having a lazy Sunday with my girls. Baby girl's first tooth finally came through her gum so she slept better last night. Now I just have to get the toddler to stop trying to sleep on top of me.

I've more than recovered from my multiday holiday binge. I'm guess there was some water weight because I weighed in 4 days after I recommitted and had lost almost 6 lbs. I'm at my lowest non pregnancy weight in years. 20 more lbs and I'll no longer be morbidly obese according to bmi. I can finally imagine kicking morbid obesity's butt.

Maybe I can beat it before our 3rd anniversary on Sept 16. If I do, I'd almost have to find a babysitter for a couple hours so we can have a good date. :)

Ahhhh, spent the day at the lake and it was sooo nice. Although, it was quite choppy and almost more like being at the ocean, but it was still magnificent. The kids had a great time, we played in the water, I read a little bit. It was a much needed day for all of us. Hubby napped! lol

Chores will still be there tomorrow!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

Very windy and choppy here too Diana, but the water was 80 degrees! Seriously warm and lovely!

Salad in a pita for supper. Nom nom nom. Swam for over an hour. Decided to chance the rain and put Thompson's on half the front deck.

Had some friends come visit and bring us some "Made in OK" goodies, and took my guy and I to dinner (his birthday was last month), and it was SO nice to have a meal that wasn't all wrapped up in stress. Laughed way too much, had way too much good conversation, and can't wait to see our friends again (they live less than an hour away, but with the cost of gas, visits aren't feasible very often...)... Overall, what started out as a sad weekend turned out nicely. My upstairs neighbors messaged me on Facebook late and stopped by with a super cute card and a "present" box of my favorite candy, which was random and cool. Now I have to figure out what to make for one of the two on his birthday a week from today... :)

Karen, thank you so much for the offer of the swimsuit (I just saw it). Thankfully, I'm pretty good in that dept. One of my fellow bariatrics peeps gave me an array of clothes and included quite a few swimsuits in a variety of downward spiraling sizes so I should be good for a while. Thank you though
