Just checking in to see how everyone is doing? Updates? Any BFP out there? Dr's apt? Anything that has helped with the weight loss?

Nothing really going on here. My 35th birthday is coming up, if I don't get a BFP this cycle I am going to ask my gyno for a referral to a specialist. Hubby's numbers are good. He has to go back in August for a check..

Hi I have pretty much only lurked on this board, lol, but I got my BFP on 4/29 after 19 months TTC! I am just over 10 weeks along now. I was diagnosed with PCOS in January. I took 1500 mg metformin, 5 mg letrozole (Femara), an hcg trigger shot and progesterone suppositories (400 mg/day) after ovulation. I turn 35 next month and had a slightly diminished egg reserve. I was working with an RE.

I was also following a high fat/low carb diet when I got my BFP. Good luck ladies, it can be done! :)

Congrats!! Wow 19months is a long time.. I know I am going on past 4 years, I quit counting, but I haven't been good about trying, taking temps and watching the calendar and everything. I usually do good for a few months and then lose interest. I did 2 rounds of fertility pills one clomid (which I got pregnant on with my first child) and nothing, and then 2 rounds of femera and nothing. I decided to take time and work on me, and I have lost over 50+ lbs, so I am hoping if it doesn't happen when I go to the dr. in November that If I go back on fertility pills they will work this time. I was 50lbs heavier when I got pregnant with my 1 and only after 3 rounds... but I guess it didn't want to work that way again. It's nice to hear that it can happen. I have never done the HCG trigger shot is that 1)spendy? 2) can be done at your regular OB's office? Keep us updated on your news, would love to hear about it!

TTC here too. Going on 5+ years. Tried soy isoflavones for 3 months (only take it for 5 days at the beginning of each cycle). They call it "natures clomid" from what I read online. A friend got her BFP after her 1st cycle on the soy after 6 years of TTC. No BFP for me, but it did make my cycles a bit more regular. Now taking a break from the soy (suggested after 3 cycles) and will be ordering Pregnitude. I know it's pricey, but I have a few amazon gift cards I have to use up anyways. Read a lot of good things about Pregnitude and PCOS. Hoping that with that, and trying to lose weight and eat healthier, I get closer to my BFP...

    What is pregnitude?

    http://www.pregnitude.com/

Supposedly it is just a supplement packet that all it has is 2000mg of myo-inositol, as well as 200mcg of folic acid. I found out about it through another TTC forum. One of the ladies received a sample packet from her doctor and was suggested that she order it. It is only available online (amazon, walgreens.com. drugstore.com and the pregnitude site). From what I read online it has helped a lot of PCOS-ers with symptoms as well as with TTC. I think you take 2 packets a day, everyday (one in AM and one at PM mixed with water). I figured it is worth a try, but it is about $40 for a months worth.

From website: Pregnitude may be right for you because it will help promote regular ovulation, support regular menstrual cycles, helps increase the quality of eggs released in each ovulatory cycle.

Thanks you!!! :) I don't think most regular OBs will prescribe the trigger shot. Most of them seem to just RX Clomid/Femara and that is it. Fertility docs (REs) seem to use it a lot. You also usually need to be monitored by ultrasound to see how the follicles are growing - that way you know when it's time to take it. My insurance didn't pay for it - it was about $125 and I had to inject it in my belly at home. It was scary at the time but ended up being no big deal. :) Good luck.

I got my Pregnitude box in the mail yesterday! Had my first packet this morning. Really doesn't taste like anything. Might just make the water a tiny tiny tad bit sweet, but that was all I noticed. Drank it about 4 hours ago and so far no side effects either. I'll drink my other packet tonight. Only my first day, but will keep you updated if I notice anything different. :)

    Still tryin'

Happy to report 25 days of tracking my eating habbits! I weigh in Sat so hopefully my hard work will have paid off. I am loving the diet I am on and so is my tummy!

Anyone else here on a low carb diet notice a difference in overall feel and health?

Femera made my cycles so much more regular! I hope to try it again in November if my weight loss doesn't do the trick for my infertility!
