Take it up a notch

Anyone doing anything in particular to take things up a notch as your wedding gets closer? I got the slow and steady thing down but wouldn't mind kick-starting myself a little in this final push....

Lol I'm actually "winding it down a notch". I think I almost went too fast right at the start so I'm working toward maintenance. I want to make sure I still fit in my dress on the big day. Plus, wedding planning stress and a 50+ hr/week job aren't really good for going all-out :ohwell:

    Hey,

Yes, minor panic is setting in! Only 11 weeks until my wedding! I still want to lose 11-15 lbs! EEK! I think I am going ramp up my cardio and try to do HIIT cardio in the morning before I start the day. I also think 4 weeks out I am going to only eat carbs before 3 or 4pm, no evening carbs. I had a friend that did that and got good results.

    What were you thinking?

I'm thinking about adding in morning workouts too - likely HIITs. And I plan on cutting out all alcohol the month before the wedding. Just trying to think of other little changes I could make.

That sounds good! I have the insanity DVDs so I was thinking about starting those again! eek a bit nervous but I think it will pay off. How much more did you want to lose before your big day? When is your wedding?

I want to loose 15 more lbs in 11 weeks. Think that is doable?

My wedding is in 17 weeks (November 8). I'd like to lose another 10-15 lbs by then.

15 lbs in 11 weeks is tough but doable. Just gotta buckle down. Upping your workouts is always good but just remember that most of the work is done in the kitchen...

    Yes a few things!

    1. Starting the 21-Day Sugar Detox this coming Sunday. I'm nervous! But I really need a kick in the butt with my sugar/carb addiction so fingers crossed that it works for me. My fiancé is doing it with me, thankfully. I hope that makes it easier. Here's the website if anyone is interested in learning more: http://balancedbites.com/2013/12/how-to-get-started-on-the-21-day-sugar-detox.html
    2. I just bought a Fitbit! Anxiously awaiting it to come in the mail. http://www.fitbit.com/one
    3. And I joined a new gym a few weeks called Orange Theory Fitness. Highly recommended if you have one in your area! http://www.orangetheoryfitness.com/Studio-Locations

How are you liking that? My friend who is helping me start the 21DSD does keto too and loves it. She's lost like 60+ pounds doing it.

Can someone educate me on the basics of the keto diet?

basically it is what body builders use to shred, or cut after they have bulked up. It is a good way to cut fat while maintaining lean muscle. Interestingly it is also a diet prescribed to diabetics and people with epilepsy. It is a HIGH fat, Moderate protein, and very LOW carb diet.

Essentially everything you ever thought you knew about fats was wrong! 73% of my daily food is fat, yet I am still losing weight.

Here are some good resources that might help you should you decide to try it. I like to understand the science behind things so the first link is where I started. I hope that helps. It seems like it is very counter intuitive, yet it works.
