    Hello everyone.

Those are some pretty impressive lists, and I'm glad most of you included your non metal artists. I am surprised that Rush doesn't appear in your lists more often, as they are my favorite band because of their incredible live performances. I guess I've seen them 20+ times.

I've seen Metallica about a dozen times and Chicago favorite Michael McDermott about 50 times.

Other great shows from every genre in no particular order include: Godsmack, Black Crowes, Robert Cray, Guns n Roses, Eric Clapton, Heart, The Sword, Sass Jordan, Eric Johnson, Queensryche, The Eagles, Don Henley, Steve Winwood, Melissa Etheridge, Robert Plant, The Who, Living Color, Sevendust, Jimmy Buffet, Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, Depeche Mode, The Cure, INXS, Kid Rock, Linkin Park, NIN, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Poi Dog Pondering, Jewel, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Soul Asylum, John Mayall, Mr Big, Primus, Divebar, Danzig, Stone Temple Pilots, Skid Row, Rolling Stones, and Train.

I'm sure there are others I've forgotten.

I used to spend my time seeing my friend s in the local punk, ska, and metal bands down here; I haven't seen a lot of "legit" bands lol

My husband and I figured out we had been at the same Rancid concert before we knew each other.

Yeah... one of my best friends is in his late 30s and got to see Megadeath and the Misfits (his favorite band) for $10. Gas was 4 bucks a gallon when I started driving; we could barely do anything for 10 bucks and most of the cool people were already dead >:(

I remember being outraged at having to pay five bucks for two local bands and some band from NYC that no one had ever heard of.
It was the Vertibeads, Scratch Acid, and Sonic Youth. The Vertibeads were so warped by the experience that they broke up and became Nice Strong Arm. Yeah, It was worth five dollars.
  • I have seen Megadeth live! I am hopefully going to be adding to my list of bands that I have seen live. :P

I love live music, so much so that at least once a year I head over and go to one of the European metal festivals. This year was Hellfest, in France (as was last year) and it was just...incredible. Look at the line-up, mind-blowingly good! The Valley stage would definitely be your kind of thing TheCrawlingChaos (incidentally it was headlined by Electric Wizard on the Friday)

Emperor playing the whole of 'In the Nightside Eclipse' for the 20th anniversary of it's release was the highlight of the weekend!

I don't go to many live shows because I don't know a lot of people that share my taste in music. I almost saw Peelander-Z a few weeks ago, but I couldn't get anybody to go to some obscure punk show in a not-so-great neighborhood.

I would have loved to see Emperor at that show.
