Rope Climbs

In my OnRamp program, I happily completed 1 rope climb, and I still have the scars to prove it. Today we had them in our WOD, but I chose not to do them. So here's my question:
I like to wear tight fitting but breathable tanks and shorts to WODs, because I was a swimmer for 10 years and if I could WOD in a swimsuit I absolutely would. I weart the closest thing to a swimsuit I can lol. What should I bring in case of Rope Climbs, since short shorts and short socks will get me nothing but scars on my legs?
I'm inexperienced in this sort of gear, like the long lifting socks and such, and I hate wearing tight capris or pants because they get too hot. So brand names and locations would be nice

I have a pair of Rocktape Shin Skins.
Tbh I got them for mountain biking, but they are designed for CrossFit.

I have a pair of knee socks that I cut the feet off of. That way I can just slide them on over my shoes within ~20 seconds anytime I DL or want extra protection. I'd love some of the rock tape sleeves but they're so expensive!0
