Hunter x Hunter

I'm really surprised I didn't see a HxH thread here. I picked this show up two months ago as a recommendation from a co-worker and have been keeping current, but I can't believe how much I missed out on. I pretty much got into it while it was going through the last few bits of the Meruem arc.

Maybe it's just me, but I am a little surprised at how little talk I see about this series - It's really up there for me now.

I don't read the manga at all, but i've looked a bits and pieces of what's to come and I am so damn hyped.

Anyone else ready for another episode today? :)

    For sure!

Always look forward to my Tuesday Hunter shows , although lately I haven't watched the episodes until like a day or two before the next one comes out due to schedule and the fact that I have been downloading old One Piece episodes to watch on my PC since CrunchyRoll hasn't premiered them yet, and power watching 400+ episode of the over 600 out (skipping fillers mostly) is no easy task!

If memory serves me right, the current HxH is a relaunch of the original Anime that stop showing years back prior to the Chimera Ant arc that just finished up. I too have not read anything of the current content, but I did read all of the hunter training arc years ago but never made it past that point.

Honestly I just think those who like it like it but since its had troubled history with production on both the anime and manga sides, some people just take it as it comes and doesn't go all overboard with the story anymore.

Jeez. Good luck with that! I honestly don't think i'll ever touch One Piece until it's done. I would have to drop a lot of shows for a long time for me to ever get current on it - Skipping fillers just like you of course. I just can't do those anymore, lol.

Yup, the one going on right now started from the beginning since the old one stopped after Greed Island - Touching on the production problems, though, I've been hearing so much about them that it does get me a little worried, and i'm hoping that everything goes smooth and ends on a good note. (Who wouldn't want that for any show, I guess...)

It's a shame about all of it though. Spare Pouf, i've never really had much of a problem with any of the cast that's ever come up - All of the characters are so different but they're all touched on enough to make them worthwhile and lovable. Seeing where the Ants when towards the end of that arc was such a surprise, too.

One of my favorites! And one where I like both the manga AND the anime

Where do you read the manga on? A site or two that my friends use don't have it, but I haven't really looked myself too much.

I've seen some scans of stuff from the next arc and i'm so looking forward to it!

Thanks Crush! I'll have to pick up from where the anime's at, I guess, lol.

Awesome to hear you're hooked, Lax. ;)

Honestly, you should start from the beginning when reading a manga....it will give you a feel for the authors style a lot easier!

You do have a point, haha. Wonder how quick I could cram the manga in to get up to speed... :)

HunterxHunter is definitely in my top 5! I'm taking a bit of a break from the show and manga since I just finished the ant arc and prefer to watch/read in bulks versus one chapter/episode a week. Are you up to date with the anime? If you're interested in action/adventure I would also recommend the Berserk and Claymore mangas if you haven't read them already :)

I wish I could hold back and wait like you. I am up to date on the anime, so i'm at the edge of my seat until every Tuesday, and the cycle repeats at the end of each new episode. Stir crazy! But, new episode for me to come home to after work tomorrow (today actually, but hey whatever!) so that's nice.

I've seen a loooot of stuff about Berserk, and i've heard the movie is (I think there's more than just one?) really fantastic too. I've seen bits and pieces, I definitely love the art style and a few people at work have told me to pick it up some time. I can't say i've looked at or heard much of Claymore - I know the name though!

And hey, warm welcome to MFP from the whole group!
