Hiking!

Anyone have some insight on good hiking/backpacking trails around Indiana (preferably southern)?
I have been to Turkey Run, and it is way too crowded for my liking. I would like some places that are a little more secluded so no one has to see me sweatin' it out!
Anything would help--thank you!!

Well, right down the road from Turkey Run is Shades State Park, which is usually much less crowded, very nice. Plus Pine Hills Nature Reserver is right next door, which is usually even less crowded, and the Devil's Backbone there is not to be missed..0

If you are in Southern Indiana you can check out Borwn County State Park, Hoosier National Forest, Yellowwood, Tecumseh Trail, Knobstone. Check these out...

A couple that I like really well.
Tecumseh Trail 38.2 miles - Yellowwood State forest, Nashville In
Three Lakes Trail 9.6 miles - Morgan Monroe State Forest
Then one of my favorites

There are trails at
McCormick's Creek State Park - on 46 between Spencer and Bloomington - Really nice hills to challenge you.
Spring mill state park. The trails are short but rugged.
I also visit Eagle Creek Park http://www.indy.gov/eGov/City/DPR/ECPark/Documents/Eagle Creek Park Trail Map 2014.pdf
I'll second Clifty Falls, that is a trail that can humble you.0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone!! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply! I guess one of the downsides to the MFP app is the lack of community access.
I love all of your suggestions--and thanks for the links!! I will definitely need to start driving around more and checking these places out. I have been too bored of the immediate Lake Monroe area, that's for sure.0 -
Clifty Falls is one of my favorites that I forgot about! Thanks for the reminder.0

Clifty Falls +1. Was there a couple of months ago (I started my weight loss journey there). Beautiful state park, awesome trails. Going back next month for more hiking!0
