I LOVE MyFitnessPal - it makes tracking so easy! That said, I still get lazy when I put together a recipe and have to enter all the ingredients. I love that you can scan barcodes and the search feature is easy to use - I just need to get back in the habit of doing it and this challenge will help hold me accountable!

Similar challenge - I prepare most of my own meals so entering all the ingredients for a recipe is a challenge especially since you can't change the amounts after you save the recipe. I cook by taste (and what is available), so a recipe may change slightly from one week to the next. Ultimately, lack of time or desire. I do much better tracking on the weekdays than weekends.

One thing that does work well for me is to log all of my food right away in the morning. I usually know exactly what I am going to eat (and my exercise) for the day and then can make quick adds later if I am unsure or have a snack. It helps me see if I can snack and what would be good based on my Carb/Fat/Protein distribution for the day.
  • I have been doing this for over a year and when I started it was a pretty daunting task. MFP makes things easy though by giving options to save recipes, save meals, copy meals, scan barcodes, etc. Everytime I think of quitting, I log something else, so I have a feeling I will be here for a while.

I do think, however, that some people do not want to know how much of the bad stuff they are eating and will avoid the truth at all costs.
