Cutting For Figure/bodybuilding competition

I have 10 weeks to go before my first figure competition and I am trying to get ultra lean on a vegan diet. My trainer wants me to eat an animal-based diet and eliminate all fruit--basically an Atkins-like diet. I really want to prove to him that I can get just as ripped as a vegan as any meat-eater. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
I could really use some nutrition advice from any previous competitors or those with any insights--Thanks!!!!
