shoes for running WODs

I WOD in Chuck Taylors unless it's a heavy Oly WOD with little running or jumping (in that case, I use my lifters). I'm perfectly comfy using them for jump rope, box jumps, etc. What are you gals using for WODs with more running? I get so torn on what to wear on things like a day with a lot of heavy deadlifts combined with a lot of running (say 1-3 miles). I run recreationally in trail running shoes and they have a ton of support and a heel, which is not optimal for CF.

I'm looking at some Inov8 products. The Nanos seem ugly and not much better for running than my Chucks. Ideas? Or just suck it up and DL in running shoes?

I wear inov8's, usaully f lite 215s for anything without a ton of oly lifting. I have super narrow feet so the nano's were just too wide and clunky for me. They are light and minimalist so I wear them for pretty much any workout without cleans or snatches.

I only like the Nano 2.0s (I agree about the newest nanos--wide and clunky!!), but I either wear those or just some lightweight generic Nike runners.

Thanks for the feedback. I've actually been looking at the Inov8 215's myself.

I prefer to run in a pair of Nike Flex. They are quite minimalist too.

But tbh unless there is box jumps or running I often WOD in lifters.

    i like my brooks pureconnect.
light enough to not get in the way of stuff like 2nd pair and am cleans, squats, etc but still supportive for running.

I started off in Innov8 240 but found after a while they were just too flat for running, causing sore knees. I purchased some super expensive Brooks but got sick of having to change shoes all the time.
I then purchased some Nano' 3s and have found them awesome for WODs and running.
They definately feel wider & bulkier than Innov8's but am really loving them.

I have the Inov8 fast lifts, and use those for any wods with 300m or less.
I have the nano 3.0s for the other WODs. I can basically do all the lifting in either

Love the inov8s and would consider trying more of their line.
  • I wear my nano 2's for everything. They're more flexible and lightweight than chucks.

Depends on how the WOD is structured. If it's one run and done I'll wear my running shoes and possibly kick them off to do the lifting/jumping portions.

If it's rounds of exercises, I will wear my NB Minimus and just slow down a bit to control my footstrike better and make sure its on the ball/midpoint of my foot.
