I was prescribed this and I was wondering if anyone has had any success with it. What did it help with? Side effects? I've read the listed side effects but it's nice hearing from others who have actually used it.

I take it. It helps with hair growth, water retention and insulin resistance. It's a diuretic so make sure you are drinking extra water.0

I'm on 25 mgs twice a day. This is totally unconfirmed because I haven't had a followup appt with the doctor yet, but it seems like it runs through your system pretty fast, so you need those two doses. Or maybe I do because its so low. I've been taking it for about 6 months now and around the three month mark I would have said it slowed facial hair growth and cleared up a little acne. Now at six months, I'm not so sure. But I have been missing doses on accident and started eating sugar again (stupid holidays! stupid summer!), so I'm redoubling my efforts to be good and will reassess in a few months. No side effects that I've noticed.0

I started taking spiro for my acne, but took myself off of it after 6-weeks. I started getting SUPER oily hair, and severe grapefruit sized black bruises for no reason. When I looked up the side effects I saw that it is known to cause tumors, specifically breast cancer. I am the only one in my family who hasn't had cancer (my sister has her final mastectomy surgery on Monday), and there is NO way that is an acceptable risk for me.
Obviously you should discuss your specific pros/cons with your doctor.0
