Hey All, I want to find out if anyone on here has tried Paleo and had success with it with your PCOS. I've read that it can help fertility , but mostly I'm interested in how did weight loss go? How did you feel? I'm on Metformin (1000mg) daily and I see that has helped a little with weight loss and hunger cues.

  • I don't do paleo but that is a VERY low amount of Met. When was the last time you had your levels checked? 2000 mg is the standard.

My doc started me with 500mg and bumped it up last august after I hadn't ovulated in 80 days. I'm fairly regular (about 30 days) on 1000mg right now when I'm not on the clomid. I honesty hadn't thought that it my not be enough. I have an appointment in a few weeks, I'll ask if it should be checked.

I don't do straight paleo, though by default it's very similar. I do a low carb, high fat, moderate protein lifestyle and love it! I've become a huge advocate for this lifestyle. I've been on it a month (5 weeks of total loosing weight) and have lost 17.2#s. On WW it took me over 3 months of struggling to get here. I've also had 2,periods, which is big news since I was going on 70 days without one. Even without weightloss, I've lost inches everywhere, we took my one month photos the other day and when I took my stomach out to do extreme weightloss style photo and my husband noticed how there was just less! I also feel great! Less headaches, I sleep easier and best of all I have tons less cravings for sugar and carbs and feel full longer. The site (and his video) that pieced it together for me is www.dietdoctor.com/lchf. Good luck!
