Hi my friends,
My son and his girl friend were in a car accident yesterday morning. It took five hours of calling around to find out the information of where they were taken. We happen to be at the juncture of three services (city police, sheriff and CalFire/forestry)...and within range of three different hospitals. So, tracking down where they were and then finding a way to get to them took time. His car was having service done on it, so he had borrowed our car.
When we finally got a fix on where they had taken them and the car, and we had arranged for a friend to drive us down the mountain to the valley where they were, Most of the day had passed. We saw the truck before seeing my son. It had rolled three times. My husband believes the high quality shell on the back of our truck kept the cab from fully collapsing in on them. They walked away with concussions and neck injuries, a few scratches and a lot of impact bruises from seat belts etc.
As I looked at the truck, with its smashed cab roof, shattered glass, and wheels that were bent and gouged from hitting the mountain boulders, I said a 100 quick prayers of thanks to God. I feel the only way they walked away from that mangled mess without dying or becoming paralyzed was that they had Divine help. The car is totalled--we don't need an insurance investigator to tell us that. So we are without a vehicle and not certain how soon we can replace it.
By the time we arrived home and I put them to bed and set up a routine of waking them every two hours to make sure their concussion wasn't worse, I found myself exhausted and sat down to write the Bible Study and fell asleep. :P
I'll try to catch up today.
My apologies, my friends.
Blessings from and gratitude to God
