I finished the 10K!

Yesterday- I finished the 10K. 80 minutes, which was my personal best- I'd done 10K on my own every Sat for the past few weeks- but still put me dead last in this crowd. Really, the 80 year old with the prosthetic leg finished five min before me, and I had a personal police escort for the last three miles because they were opening up the streets to traffic behind me as crossed intersections- but I finished! It was a good experience overall- not sure I'll be doing it again any time soon- but definitly looking for new ways to chalalnge myself. And - honestly- I woudln't have been doing it at all if I hadn't had the sleeve in March- I probably still wouldn't even be able to run around the block.

That is an amazing accomplishment! At this one place I walk, I am regularly passed by an at least 80 year old man. But he's super fit!! It doesn't matter one little bit how you did compared to others, but that YOU did this!

Way to Go! I knew you'd finish and that you would be happy with the time.

You are an inspiration to us all. Hopefully you will be able to fall back on this memory the next time you have an obstacle in front of you!

Lol! Thanks guys- I was so glad for the support when I decided to take on this challange. I wish I were joking about the 80 yo- but no....she thanked me for keeping her company on the run! I like that idea Rob- I'm holding on to this for the next time something seems impossible.

Lol! Thanks- I am still laughing about the police escort...they were all very gracious about it- and by all- I mean the cruiser behind me, the and the motorcycle cops along side me.....full escort!
