Fitbit/MFP/MapMyFitness

Ok so I get that fitbit should be used to track only running/walking. But I think its adding steps as a cycle. Should I be taking it off while I'm riding and letting MapMyFitness sync my calorie burn to MFP? Were my calories duplicated today because I didn't take it off? I did have the activity timer started though. Thanks

  • Press and hold the button until you feel a vibrate; this turns on activity mode. Do your riding. When you're finished, press and hold the button to turn off activity mode. Sync your FitBit. Access the FitBit website > Log > Activity tab. You should see the workout logged as an activity (If not, check the Sleep tab and move it to Activity). On the Activity tab, toward the bottom, is a box that lets you search for activities. Use the start time and duration from your logged activity session to log your bicycling. FitBit works it out. I have not found that it makes a difference whether you leave the original logged activity (when you were in activity mode) or delete it, so it's up to you.

  • Hi guys,

My name is Maddy, I'm 19 and I live in Australia. To be honest, my depression and anxiety are starting to get the better of me. Today I went out and bought myself a fitbit and I'm looking to connect with some people to help motivate me and exchange tips/ ideas on getting fit and healthy and hopefully losing some weight. :)
