Due May 23rd; I'm afraid of gaining the weight back!

Hi! My husband and I just found out we're pregnant! Yay! I lost a bunch of weight, now I'm at 185, but I'm afraid of the cravings I keep hearing about and gaining all of it back again! Any tips for staying on track? I eat minimally processed foods, and I'm not a veggie fan, but I eat fruits and veggies for every meal. I try to stay away from simple carbs, but I have a sweet tooth like nothing else!

Just remember that the old saying "Eating for two" just is NOT true.
I highly recommend using this tool it has helped me tremendously!

Gives you your calorie needs based on trimester you are in.

    http://www.freedieting.com/tools/pregnancy_calorie_calculator.htm

I have used this and have stayed in my target weight gain range for my size and height and my doctor says "I am a "Star pupil" because I haven't gained excessive weight I'm right on target.
At 32 weeks I have only gained 22 pounds which is in the weight range for my height and weight and only 8 weeks to go so may hit within the 25-30 pound range which is right on target!

Just a suggestion to set your calorie goals in MFP and change them accordingly as you go into each trimester.

Definitely keep logging and tracking food and calories. this has helped me tremendously with keeping on track (sure I still go over sometimes and the first trimester was tough because all I wanted was carbs and no veggies), but I still tracked. I am 16.5 weeks and gained about 7lbs which is actually a bit low for my weight (normal weight for my height) but I'm sticking with what I am doing for now because I give into cravings on the weekends. I eat well throughout the week and give in on weekends, and we also have several weekends away coming up and I want to get through them and then I may up my calories a bit. But if I am hungry one day I won't go to bed hungry just to stay under, I will eat something good to fill me up. I am set at maintenance and eat most of my exercise calories back (usually all of them).

Congrats! I'm due the 18th of May. I know what you mean - I just started losing weight and now I'm a little worried about gaining it back. I'd really like to keep the gain under 20 lbs if possible...but this is my first pregnancy so a whole new world. I'm only 6 weeks and haven't had morning sickness yet, so my opinion probably doesn't count for much, but one thing that has helped me so far is just continuing to log my food/exercise using mfp everyday. Good luck girl! :)

Thank you all for the resources! I'm going to try and keep the weight gain under 20 pounds. I bought a Jawbone UP24, and hopefully I can keep motivated! I'm in week 6 and I'm just so darn tired; the bloating is definitely not something I'm used to!
