IFeel free to add me if you want.
My name is Kayla and I stand 5'8/9 barefoot. I say 5'9 and I'm currently 206lbs pounds. I got down to 190 last year but gained some of the weight bsck due to depression. I'm not sure how much I am now because I haven't weighed myself in a while. I've been on this site before and I'm going to try to stay on it. Sometimes when I tell my current weight, some of my friends don't believe me and I have to prove it. I'm tall that's probably why. When I check my BIM and it said I was "obese". I don't even look obese but I am overweight. Some people say I don't need to lose anymore weight and I look good. I appreciate the comments but I got to do this to be healthy.
Finding shoes can be a challange too and I constantly HATE being reminded that I'm a big girl and I have big feet. I wear a size 11/12 in women's depending on the shoe. In the UK it's 9 or 10. Yes being tall has it's ups and downs. It's so good to relate to other tall ladies. Like I said, fee free to add me if you like. :)

    Hi Kayla!

I think us taller women are lucky, people dont notice the extra weight so much. I also get the oh but you are thin comments the whole time (even when I was much heavier and in an overweight BMI)

Im also a size 9 and there is only one shop that sells size 9 out here. Sucks!

but then again being tall is awesome, even with the shoes, pants long enough etc.
Good luck on your weight loss goals!

Ps sometimes you gotta hand it to short people, cause they just cant reach lol

I guess. How tall are you? If you don't mine me asking.
  • morning. I'm 6ft 1 and a size 9 in shoes also. it's a nightmare! although I have to admit places are getting better.a re you in the UK? Asda, new look, dorothy perkins...they all do 9's. if only clothes were as avaialble for tall women! without spending ridiculous prices. long sleeves are a no-no. regular waistbands on dresses. maxi dresses...urgh! I'm a size 16 and I do look slim but I am not at all, I only get away with it due to my weight. I weigh 16st 9 and am desperate to lose at least a stone and get down a couple of sizes.

No. Actually I live in the USA.

  • The greatest thing about losing weight as a tall girl is being able to find clothes and shoes that actually fit. I am 5'10 and when I weigh between 150-160 pounds I never struggle to find clothes or shoes that fit. I actually go down a shoe size!

    Hi Kayla,

I'm 5'10 a little under 160lbs. I feel like the hardest thing about being tall is finding things that fit (both arm and pant length). You definitely have to invest a little more money to get quality clothes that fit. My shoe size is 9 so it's not too hard for me to find shoes.
