How many more diseases can I get

As a fibro and endometriosis sufferer, this weight loss thing is a definite yo yo. I was just diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia and I'm having a hard time with this. in addition, my savella isn't covered under my insurance for more than 6 prescriptions a year. WHAT? So I'm back on lexapro which is known to gain weight. Great.

PT isn't helping my pain and spent the night awake wanting to dig my thumb into my eye.

I would love to hear success stories where pain didn't get you away from weight loss.

Have you tried Cymbalta? It comes in generic now and has some of the same properties of Savella. I am recently diagnosed Fibromyalgia with degenerative joint disease in my knees. I am currently taking both of them (so weird since both are SNRIs). The Cymbalta did help a lot though alone.

As for battling through the pain, some days are good, some days are bad. On those good days, just be the best you can be. On bad days...I just do what makes my body feel better.

(Oh, and I just recently discovered the wonders of a HydroMassage bed. My gym has one and it's A--MA--ZING. All the aches melt away)

I tried cymbalta which was amazing but it made me grind my teeth and I couldn't feel my fingers. lol. Lexapro works meh but I'm now hungry all of the time. Need to be aware and satisfy my hunger with healthy stuff. Hoping once my body gets used to it that will stop.

At PT they do a lot of massage but the exercise just isn't cutting it. I've been told not to lift any weights until I'm released.

I hope you aren't minding my suggestions (I am a pharmacy tech by trade). You could also try Effexor. Lexapro is an SSRI which doesn't do the same thing as an SNRI like Savella, Cymbalta, and Effexor. I'm not sure why your doctor would prescribe that for fibro symptoms.

As for exercise, concentrate on diet first, then add in the exercise when the doctor gives the okay. I've actually been restricted to what I could do for months this year and just recently have been able to start working out again.

Just remember, this isn't a quick fix, it's a journey with both weight loss, health, and fighting our conditions. I have to remind myself of this constantly.

We are in this together here!

I try not to count because everytime I do the list seems to get longer. In addition to a neuromuscular illness called Myasthenia Gravis, I also have, asthma, Fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic back/neck pain from a car accident, and more. In addition to prescription meds for pain, I have found that the following herbs help me. I heard about them on Dr. Oz. They are: Devil's Claw and Boswellian. I take them daily. They may not be right or helpful for everyone, but I can definitely tell the difference when I am out or forget to take these herbs. I also find therapeutic massage helpful if you can find someone that understands you and can provide the right therapy for you.

I take Effexor and it doesn't affect my weight at all.
