Online Motivation & Inspiration

Social media is a great place to find & share ideas, motivation & inspiration for your personal journey and weightloss journey.

If you feel comfortable sharing on social media to connect with your team members, then go ahead & then get connected with the others that share.

You could post/tweet and brag about your team's weight loss as of 9/11-10/8.

Warriors - 50 pounds
Calorie Killers - 64.5 pounds
Sole Trainers - 61 pounds
Western Allstars - 15.5 pounds (we were missing a ton of weigh-ins this week, so can't say for sure)

    My Cuz, who inspired me to start this Journey, has lost her weight thru Weight Watchers and Exercise. She always posts scrumptious recipes on FaceBook.

    I doubt if I will receive a response to my post since Jessie doesn't appear to comment on anything folks have posted to his FaceBook page. Time will tell I guess!

    If you comment on my post, I receive an EXTRA Point for our WARRIORS Team.

    I know that you know the value of an EXTRA ADVANTAGE when it comes to the weigh-in and that's what you would be giving our WARRIORS Team.

    I am on My Fitness Pal and we are in a challenge group for weight loss which follows the Biggest Loser: Glory Days TV Program.

    The name we picked for our team is WARRIORS. From Sept 11th until Oct 8th the WARRIORS have lost 50 pounds!

    We have 15 dedicated folks on our Team! Last week 100% of the WARRIORS weighed-in. To date, no other team has had 100% weigh-in. The WARRIORS were the first!

    This challenge is done over the internet and we have not physically met our teammates. Our WARRIORS Team is from all over the world. We have folks on our team from Australia, Canada, New Brunswick, UK and the USA to name a few countries.

    You are doing such wonderful work with the Blue Team. I just LOVE it! You did such a fantastic job with the ladies (even though you were down one team member when Damien Woody was sidelined)! Fantastic Job!!!

    You guys, this challenge just got me down. I've only just started watching BL and finished up Season 2 about 2 weeks ago. I loved Matt's transformation the most, both emotional and physical. I just googled him and looked him up for this challenge. First, I discovered that he married co-contestant Suzy, but looking at their FB page, they have both put the weight back on! Not very inspirational :\ I did like their FB page but am not going to comment as all they seem to be doing is selling a spot for some current weight lose challenge Suzy is trying :|

    Note: I also sent Jessie an email (to the address listed on his FB page) that said the identical thing that my post said and I also provided the direct link to the post so he wouldn't have to search for it. I know he's a busy guy-trying to make it easy for him. I don't know if that helped or not.

    Hi Ali I live in Australia and watched your journey with eagerness and pride. I have caught up online with your current success and your brave and honest sharing. I'm fighting the battle using My Fitness Pal and have connected with a wonderful group of people watching the Glory Days Biggest Loser show and using the contestants journeys to spur us on our own. This week, we have been challenged to connect on social media with someone who inspires us. I feel really inspired by you. We are similar height and I am approximately where you were at the start so I know what is possible for me with hard work and dedication. My Warriors team on MFP is made up of 15 wonderful people from all over the world, not just in the US. Our prize is a new, healthy body, a healthy mind and a fabulous life.     Okay team...I posted this on Facebook. Hopefully this will earn me a point. I'm not expecting a response as she has so many posts on her page but none seem to have replies. I will let you know if/when I get something back to get a bonus. I don't really use social media other than Facebook for connecting with friends but I have made friends with one MFP buddy on Facebook. I love the social aspect of MFP. It's my new Facebook...just with friends I haven't met yet! :)

    Rachel!! I loved watching you on the biggest loser and knew you would win!!! Was rooting for you the whole time

    I am a part of a Biggest Loser challenge currently and my team is down 50 LBS; our challenge this week is to message someone from the biggest loser and see if we get a response; we get bonus points if we do!!! Our team is called the warriors and were from all over the world we would love to hear back from you

    1. I am a member of a UK fb page called HOOP (Help Overcome Obesity Problems) who's patron is the one and only Jessie !!!

    2. I follow a fb page called HASfit who post inspirational posters https://www.facebook.com/HASFitness?fref=ts
    and offer numerous free workouts on their website http://hasfit.com/

    3. I was a member of the UK BL website until I joined here a few weeks ago. The forums were dead apart from a few of us. We now have our own weight loss support group on fb and the start of a website !!

    I thought of two people from BL who I admire, so I sent them both tweets, unfortunately this limited what I could say

    Not a twitter person but am on FB & Pinterest. Have a Healthy Tidbits board with tips, recipes, etc that is public but also have a New Me private board with lots weight loss & motivation...keep it private because of relatives that follow me. If you are on Pinterest, I am donna136.

    Also, I do follow several blogs and FB pages for motivation and ideas. One is the one Melanie mentioned Peak313 - she's a fellow Ohioian, the others are Gina's Road to Health, Home with a Purpose also an Ohioian who does THM. Oh yeah and Runs for Cookies - she lost her weight on Sparkpeople...think its a bit like MFP. And of course Success Stories on MFP....we have lots to learn from those who have walked our path and BL!

    Think its way cool that some BL people answered Ann'e, Stevie & Megan! Keep up the Great Work!!!!

    Sorry all..... I don't like social media. I don't have Facebook, Twitter anything like that. I'm a pretty private person. I do my best to interact with people on MFP and help people any way I can there.

    Congratulations to all of you that received responses, that's very exciting! I don't have twitter or do much in social media....

    Online motivation and inspiration:
    I am connected to an online group called Wellness. There are recipes, tips etc. Right now we are doing a 'learn to run 5km program.

    I updated the spreadsheet with my weight. Unfortunately, I am up almost 2lbs. Sorry about that team. I'll work extra hard this week to get rid of that and hopefully even more.

    I try to keep my online presence somewhat anonymous, so I won't share my personal FB page, but I do follow a few great blogs! skinnytaste.com and organizeyourselfskinny.com are great ones. Organizeyourselfskinny is also on Instagram and has a lot of useful info and tips!

    It's too bad we didn't have more time with this challenge. It would have been interesting to see the responses. Less than 3 days to receive a response (if you did it immediately after posted) from busy folks was challenging. :\

    I just checked, it's almost 2pm and still no challenge posted for this week. :(

    For 10/16- 10/22 There aren't Extra Challenges. Only Weigh-In and Show Chat/Speedy Challenge. Since many have asked, thought I would post it here. :)
