Maintenance Training

Morning fellow runners, I hope your weekend long run/race was a good one

My first marathon is this coming Sunday and I probably won't do any racing now until late February when I will run a club cross country 10 mile followed by a half 3-4 weeks later.

I'd looking for resources that can help direct me in establishing a maintenance plan for the interim period. This isn't something I've done before but I feel I need something written down to help me to stick to it.

I'm keen to keep long runs in the 10-13mile range and would like to run 4-5 times weekly.

Do you have any links or book recommendations?

Thanks

Hal Higdon has a couple of plans - http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51212/Post-Marathon-Training-Guide

Winter is a good opportunity to drop mileage, do some speedwork etc.

Even for "mainetenance" it's important to have a goal with your training, if not you could end up slacking off or running with no purpose.

Lastly, as this is your first marathon, you may experirnce a "what now?" feeling that can leave you feeling empty and demotivated, again habving clear trainng goal can help avoid this.
