My second running anniversary

Hi folks it is two years to the day since I got up off the couch and started to run, well I called it running more of a slow jog really. I ran for just 1.56 miles, which took me 23 minutes at 14:25 pace. But I was delighted with this. I ached and hurt for days afterward. Since that day I have moved on, I have now run 213 times for a total of 1220 miles at an average pace of 10:29. 207 hours of running. This includes 4 10K and 4 half marathon races.
Today to celebrate I ran the same route as my first run, today I managed get round in 13:23 I make that a pace of 8:35. As it's not worth going out for 1.56 I ran round a couple of more times just to finish off.
The reason for this post is simple, I want to say thanks for all the help, advice and encouragement I have received on MFP especially from you lot in the running group, I couldn't have done it without you all.

Great post, congrats on your anniversary I would say you really enjoyed that fast short run, some difference in time! I'm not running as long as you but have to agree the advice and support on this page is fantastic.0

Excellent. One of the joys of running is looking back and seeing how far you've come. Congrats!!!0

That is very cool! I had resigned myself to being a run/walker for the past few years but this year finally saw the light and SLOWED DOWN and ran continuously. I've been improving ever since. I was also afraid of some sort of knee or body breakdown. There have been occasional aches and pains but they have passed. Seems like the more I run the better I feel. I hope to celebrate 2 years at some point!0
